I'm looking at 2 year old preschool programs for my son and have narrowed it down to two choices: Creative Learning on Triton Ave. and Peter Pan on Oelseon Drive in Naperville. I'm looking for pros and cons for both locations. Any help would be great!

So What Happened?

Thanks for everyone's Pre School advice. We have found the right fit for our son at Peter Pan North on Olson. The program/philosophies seems to fit well with what we're looking for as well as the facility, the teachers/Director. My son seemed to fit right in with the other kids when we visited, it was a great experience.

I appreciate all your feedback.

Both schools are great . . . you will be happy with either choice. I have been going to Creative for the past 4 years and my kids LOVE IT! I have a 4 year old there now and she is very happy, loves going to school. My 6 year old still talks about her time there. The teachers are fabulous and the directors/owners are very accommodating. They all get to know you and your children by name. Good luck!

My four year old son is in his 2nd year at Peter Pan on Oleson. I have been extremely happy with the program. They have a fantastic curriculum while still being play based. For example this year for Pre-K they do a High Hat Program where the letter of the week is introduced through puppets. They have an extremely low turnover rate for teachers as well. Ms. Lynda the director is very approachable and involved in the day to day runnings of the school. If you have any more specific questions feel free to email me.

Hi,

My daughter also went to Peter Pan on 75th street and it was amazing. She had to leave because we moved and she started kindergarten but till today she still talks about the teacher and friends. It's a great environment and the teachers are really really good. I would totally recommend that location. I'm not sure about the one on Olsen.

Good luck with your search,
M.

Hi D.,

My daughter goes to Peter Pan (the one on 75th) and she LOVES it. The place is clean and all the teachers there are great. My daughter has learned so much. I dont have any negative comments regarding Peter Pan. Good luck.

I don't know the creative learning place. But my daughter went to Peter Pan more than 20 years ago. She was at the one that at that time was on chicago av in naperville. she loved it. My brother who's children are much younger attended the one on 75th up until the transferred this year to houston. It is a wonderful program, clean and great teachers. she still talks about it today.

For us Peter Pan was an awful organization. We had our 2 boys (4y and 8y) here for less than 2 weeks. They felt UNSAFE and AFRAID. The preschool teacher was very unprofessional. I saw her yell/raise her voice using threatening and manipulative language on more than one occasion. When I brought it to the manager's attention, my concerns were dismissed. I was SHOCKED at the treatment these kids were getting. Her method of classroom control was SHAME-BASED, FEAR and INTIMIDATION. I feel bad for the kids subjected to it everyday. If you want your children to be afraid and fear their teacher, this is the place to go.

The last straw was when they WITHHELD an afternoon SNACK for "talking". I also inquired about getting my money back (because you HAVE to pay in advance) and they said "not a chance". I wasn't looking for a total refund just money back on the days I wasn't going to use. No refund!

My 22 month old son currently attends the Peter Pan Westmont location and I am absolutely satisfied and excited by the quality of their program, caring attitude of their teachers, and progress my son has been making on all fronts. I spent 3 years working in a day care setting, so I had a pretty good idea of what to look for. If the Oelseon location is anything like the Westmont location your child will be very well taken care of!!

We moved to Naperville over the summer from so. Cal and a friend of a friend (with 4 older kids) highly recommended Creative Nursery. Her kids had been to Peter Pan (and some others I can't recall) and she said Creative Nursery is by far the best.
My 4.5 year old is VERY happy there and comes home with a smile on their face. I like the fact the two directors have been there for a LONG time...very seasoned and are very calm, nuturing, etc.
