Seeking Moms Group in Los Gatos/Campbell Area

Does anyone know of a mom's group that meets once in awhile in the Los Gatos/Campbell area? I am not too hot on the idea of joining a group that requires me to pay to be a part of or requires me to host parties at my house. I don't have a lot of friends that have small children. Now that the weather is getting better, it would be nice to hang out and talk about mommy stuff with people who are experiencing the same things in life.

I know you said that you didn't want to pay to join a playgroup but you could try a one month trial of Las Madres (www.lasmadres.org). You will meet a lot of moms who live in your area and the most of the money gets used by the members for member events like holiday parties and other activities.

Hi B. - I don't know of any groups in particular other than Los Madres, but I'm in a similar situation. My son is 18 months old and is just starting to notice other children and want to interact with them. On my days off, I always take him somewhere so if you would ever like to meet us, that would be great. We can go to any neighborhood really. I'm planning a trip to Happy Hollow Zoo this coming Thursday. Anyway, my e-mail is ____@____.com so feel free to get in touch any time.

Many churches have mom groups and you don't have to be a member of the church to join. Also, check out the local hospitals, maternity department. Some host mom groups or would certainly have information about them. I have never heard of any of these charging. Some meet at the churches, others at the hospitals and others at parks. Have fun meeting new people!!!

I am also a teacher turned stay at home mom, and have ALSO not joined any moms groups in the area because I too believe one should not have to pay to spend time with other mothers. I also do not believe in having to be "interviewed" by the other members of the mothers group: what is this, high school? You get to interview me and decide that I am or am not cool enough to hang out with you and your club? We're all adults here (or supposed to be! Wether or not some women act like adults is a different matter altogether!) - I have a two year old daughter, and will be caring for my dear friends new baby come july (he will be 2 months old by then) - I would love to get together at the park with some other mommies during the spring and summer.
Send me an email at ____@____.com and perhaps we can set up a time to meet? Any other mommies in the area with children of a similar age, please contact me and perhaps we can set up a regular weekly playdate. I live in Campbell, within walking distance of John D Morgan park.
