My 6 month old has 4 teeth and she has bit me before but not this bad. She bit me 4 days ago and its not healing. It looks infected but i dont know what i should do. its extremely painful to breastfeed and i just pump it out instead. any suggestions on what i can do to speed up the healing processes?

What can I do next?

pour some hydrogen peroxide on until is stops bubbling, twice a day if you have too and keep it covered with antibiotic cream

Use your breastmilk to dab on the bite. People forget that breastmilk has major healing properties and also has antibodies. You need to stop her biting... here's how:

This usually takes only 2 days to adapt behavior.

1st bite, sternly say "No Biting!", place baby down and keep off breast for 5 minutes, even if baby wants to come back

2nd (same time frame) bite, sternly say "No Biting!", place baby down and keep off breast for 30 minutes, even if baby wants to come back

3rd bite within the same time frame, bite, sternly say "No Biting!", place baby down and keep off breast 3 hours, even if baby wants to come back.

Baby will learn very quickly!! You must be consistent, must also do it all with a stern face - no smiling, laughing, screaming or funny noises.

I am sorry she bit you and you are hurting. Glad it's looking so much better. My daughter bit me a couple of times and I read this solution and used it. When you are nursing if she starts to bite put your pointer finger on the outside of her jaw, press firmly (not hard). My daughter cried when I did this and I looked at her and said "no biting, biting hurts" She never bit me again. I am confident you will find a solution that works for both of you.

Feel better soon!

Obviously you have an infection. You need antibiotics from the doctor.
I would also apply topical antibiotic ointment like neosporin a few times a day.
Also, being "full" will only add to the discomfort, so unless you have a super duper pump, I would still try to nurse on that side to reduce the pressure. (apply ointment After nursing, so she isn't eating the medicine.)

Take some Motrin and feel better soon.

A human bite, even a babies bite, is worse than a dog bite..weird I know, but true. You should probably go to your pediatrician office (i don't know if they will do it but they should) or call a lactation consultant and see about getting antibiotics for it possibly being infected. I did not have this problem with either one of my children. Sorry I can't be much help here.

I use a medication prescribed by my OB called Newmans ointment, has helped me out a lot, I have used it from the beginning but have needed to heal my bleeding battle wounds from teeth also. Heals within a day or so. Give you OB a call, it's great.

I'd just keep it clean and dont nurse from that side until you are comfortable again. Tap her cheek and tell her NO when she does that... I know it hurts :(
