Seeking Indoor Pool to Help with Lyme/Fibro Pain in GV/Southlake/HEB/Colleyville

Hi, Moms.

I just wrote a long post and was booted out, so will write a shorter version

I have been diagnosed with Lyme disease and Fibromyalgia. I do seek alternative treatments for the Lyme, which have helped.
Have been in severe pain, though, for the past 2 months. Swimming helps me (when I'm not bedridden). With summer coming to an end, am looking for an indoor pool facility at a reasonable price to help my rehab. I know the GCISD has an indoor pool, but the water is too cold for my condition. I would love any advice on that as well as online or in person support groups. Please help because I am tired of being bedridden and in pain, and am wanting to do what I can to get better. I'm willing to do what it takes so I can become the Mom and Wife I'd like to be.

What can I do next?

I know a lot of rehab centers have small pools that might be worth checking into. I went to one just past 121 on Central. It was in a strip center just past McDonalds on the left. I'm sure there are more but regular swimming pools cannot be kept warm. Because they are used for swim teams, they have regulations on pool and air temps. I have swimmers and they explained all of this to me. So research rehab pools and see if they can work something out with you. Good luck!

I AM NO DOCTOR!!!
I do know that cleaning out your system can help your body naturally heal itself. A good cleanser is the Lemon Cleans with paprika and maple syrup. There is a book on it. Some of the ideas maybe too strong for you. Read the book and see if you want to try it. Talk to your Doctor and get input. Ultimately use common sense and trust your intuition.

The Keller Pointe has an indoor pool and the water is quite warm year round.
I have heard that the water at the Keller Natatorium is freezing and am not sure if they changed that at all. Good luck!!!

I work out at LA Fitness at 121 and Glade. I have not used the pool but have been told that it is kept heated to a certain temperature. I always see people in there. Of course, there is the expense of joining ($30 month), but it is a great facility. I hope this helps!

The school district pools tend to run cooler because the competitive swimmers use them. You might want to look into the Keller Pointe which is run by the city. That pool is warmer. I'm pretty sure they have aquacize but they only have a couple of lap lanes.

Hello,

I also have Fibro and swimming is the only thing that helps. I'm sorry I don't have a answer for you . Since you have my same question/. I live in Euless. I use to do physical therapy at HEB rehab center. However you need a doctors prescription. I may have to go that route, I stopped since, once my MRA insurance was depleted I had to pay and could not afford. I am in a similar situation, I have RA and am looking for a place to swim during these frigid winter monthes. I am aching in a major way and would appreciate the ability to go swim in a warm pool, this will sound bad, but read entire message first, I also need a place not swarming with young children, I have a depressed immune system, and the winter is the worst! for this type of issue. I have even wondered if the Laquinta would let me come swim just for a while each day, I would love someone forever for it. I live in Bedford, texas. I used to be at a gym but as I mentioned, the depressed immune system, and the RA doesnt make it easy to conform to the rigid schedules imposed by gyms, plus the expense. Let me know if you hear anything. Would love to get in some laps....:)

24 Hour Fitness clubs also have indoor pools as well as whirlpools & saunas. There is one in Southlake at 301 N Nolen Drive. The cost is about $30 a month depending on what specials are going on at the time you join. Check out their website: www.24hourfitness.com.

For advice on how to treat your conditions I suggest you call Dr. Joel Wallach, "Doc", on the Dead Doctors Don't Lie radio program. Doc is a veterinarian and naturopathic doctor and founder of Youngevity, a direct marketing nutritional supplement company and he's helped lots of people traditional medicine couldn't help. The information for the call in radio show is below.

To talk to Doc live on the radio show daily M-F (except when someone else is filling in for him like Nurse Joanne Conaway, Dr. Corey Gold or Pharmacist Ben Fuchs):
Phone #: 1-888-379-2552
Time: Noon-1 pm PT; 2-3 pm CT; 3-4 pm ET
To be sure you get on I recommend you call as close to the starting time as possible. Be prepared to be on hold for a while. Have your story ready; you need to be as brief, but as specific, as you can. I know that sounds contradictory but you only get a minute or two to talk. Doc may ask several questions so be prepared with as much information about the situation as possible. He will always ask for the person's weight; he may ask sex, height and age and he may ask about related conditions, although they may not seem related to you. Have pencil and paper ready. When Doc gets going he talks pretty fast. If you don't get it all down the shows are recorded and you can listen to it online the following day. Go to:
http://radiotime. com/program/ p_20163/Dead_ Doctors_Dont_ Lie.aspx
and scroll down to the date you want. It'll stay on there for about 3 weeks and you can listen to it as many times as you want until it drops off. You might even want to go listen to a day or two of the shows before you call in so you'll know what to expect.

Then, to get the products he recommends at wholesale prices contact me at ____@____.com.
