one of my dearest friends has been dealing with one surgery after another, many botches in hospitals, and has just recently landed in the hospital again with an infection from the last surgery and pnuemonia. we have been friend since first grade, and she has lived half way across the country for about 15 years. we have remained very close.

i want to DO something for her! i have sent flowers and made many phone calls giving her my support and love. but i wish i could do something more. i am unable to travel to visit her. has anyone been in recovery from surgery for 3 months? what has helped you? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Perhaps you could find a cleaning company like "Molly Maids" in her area and you could buy her a "gift certificate" for a couple of hours of cleaning. I am sure you could work something out with the company or private individual so your friend could schedule it out on her time. I wish your friend well. Hope she gets better soon!

K. - What does your friend like to do in her free time? Does she get into 'gossip' magazines? Books? Suduko? Crossword? Maybe get her a book by her favorite author? Get a small basket filled with goodies and magazines? As a joke, get her a bell to ring for 'service'.

Good Luck! Hope your friend is on the road to recovery!

Maybe, if and when she is home, make her meals she can keep in her freezer. They are nice to have on hand when you don't feel like cooking.

I would send something that she can use on her body or face. I have an Arbonne business and we support a charity called Faces in the Mirror. It is a group that goes in and gives cancer patients make overs. The patients say that is always nice to feel beautiful when you don't feel well. They usually give them a face treatment with the Nutrimin RE9 line and then apply some makeup. Maybe find a face wash, mask and mosturizer for her. The other thing would be some body wash and lotion. Arbonne has an awesome Spa line that has a body wash and 24 hour hydrating lotion which you could ship directly to her from Arbonne. Last suggestion would be some good hand cream, foot cream and K. Nuberger socks to put over her feet after she has lotioned them up.

Hope this helps!
J.
