Seeking Highrisk Doctor in North Hills

My hubby and I are thinking of trying to have another baby in the fall. I suffer from hyperemesis while pregnant. Basically it means I don't eat or drink, lose alot of weight, suffer from dehydration and starvation. I already have two girls and we are from MI so I need a doc here. I need one that is good with highrisk pregnancies and that has a good bedside manner. Someone that will listen to their patients and really care. We live in Perrysville(north hills) so if anyone knows of a good doc I would appreciate it.

What can I do next?

If you can easily get to Allegheny General Hospital, then go to Dr. Ronald Thomas. He is wonderful!!! His staff is exceptional, all Dr.'s there have a great bedside manner. They listen to you and don.t just put your concerns off like they are nothing. I had my 2 children with them and would go only to them. I woulc change insurance if I wouldn't be able to go there!!!

Call the UPMC(Univesity of Pittsburgh Medical Center) Referral Line and ask for any & all high risk prenancy doctors. There are none in immediate vicinity. Hope you don't mnd blunt advice from an older mom: I have never heard of your condition, but it could not be good for a developing baby. Are you & your husband trying for a boy? I am not sure whether you husband stays home to take care of kids while you work, but if not, why would you want a day care center or babysitter to raise yet another child? (Perhaps you are lucky enough to have the children's grandmother or other family member to take care of your children.) If not,as a professional social worker, best advice I can give any mother is to scale down & stay home with your children. They need you! You will never be able to make up the lost time with them, and you will never regret such a decision. Sounds like you have a good job, but no amount of money is worth having someone else perform most of the child care. You want the children to have your values. No caretaker will give your child the same loving care that you can. Your skills will still be marketable when you children are in school (if you want to work, then). Best to you in your decision making.

I second Dr. Thomas and all of the staff @ AGH. I started high risk with a regular OB, but was switched over to AGH about a month ago (I'm doing this from a laptop in my hospital room right now), due to several complications that started at 28wks (will be 33wks tomorrow).

Dr. Thomas also delivered one of my great-nephews at 23wks over 5yrs ago, and our family thinks very highly of him and the staff at AGH.

Good luck!

I can suggest a really good Doctor,Dr Thomas down at Allegheny General Hospital. Very caring and a great staff and I couldnt be happier with the results.I was 41 when I had my daughter and I turned to a high risk Doctor and he was amazing and caring and I still send a x-mas card every year because he really made such an impression on me. I would highly recommend him to you.
