Hi!
I also live in The Colony, and I was highly recommended Dr. William Paruolo and his partner Dr. Harry Stellman. They are off of Main street in The Colony, just south of North Colony Blvd. My friend just loved Dr. Paruolo, and her son was having lots of infections, and she was able to get him right in to be treated. She just raved about him and his office.
Here is their info:

I never did a consult with him. I'm pretty sure they do though, because I seem to remember my friend saying she interviewed a lot of different doctors.
My daughter was born 10/13/05, and has been treated by Dr. Paruolo and Dr. Stellman from the start. She had a little bit of jaundice at first, and so we had to see them several times the first few weeks.
I was going to be discharged before my baby, and they called me to find out what time I was going to be discharged from Presby Plano. They were going to a conference that day, and were wanting to see if they should come to the hospital first to examine and discharge my daughter, or do it after. When they found out I was going to be discharged that morning, they went ahead and came to the hospital first, even though it might make them late to their conference. They then called me from the road to tell me about the exam and some things I needed to do to treat the jaundice before going to their office the next week. That really stuck out to me and made an impression and I decided right then and there that I would not hesitate to bring my daughter to them for treatments and checkups.
I love their office and their staff! I can tell Dr. Paruolo loves kids because he is so good with my daughter, and smiles at her and talks to her as he examines her out at her checkups. She is having seperation anxiety, but has no problem going to Dr. Paruolo at her appointments.
We've been having insurance issues (I had another ins. from a job when I had her and it was canceled right after her birth, and now have my husband's ins.) and every time my daughter or I have an appt. I have to call the ins. company to remind them we don't have any other ins. or else they deny the claims pending info from us. (It's very frustrating but that's a whole different story!) The business manager has been so great and understanding in helping me get this all sorted out, and isn't upset when claims aren't paid right away. I know they also are willing to do payment plans with patients, as I've seen some patients come in to make payments.
I'm a mom that has lots of questions, and never feel that I'm taking up too much time. They are always asking me if I have any other questions, and do a great job sharing what things to expect as she gets older, things to avoid, etc. It's not just a "walk in, poke at child, walk out" visit.
Dr. Paruolo is more friendly and smily and giggly with the kids, and Dr. Stellman does some, but is a little more reserved. But my daughter was friendly with him too, and I've been happy the two times my daughter has seen him. Dr. Paruolo is a little busier, so it can be harder to get in that day to see him when a kid is sick, but again, I've been extremely happy with both doctors, and am thrilled I don't have to drive her all the way to Plano and fight to find a parking spot when she is sick. It's great to just drive 5 min. down the road, and hardly wait at all to get in.
So that's who I highly recommend. I know that there are a lot of good doctors out there, and you'll find someone that fits your style and schedule! I've had lots of friends try one person at first, and then switch, so don't worry about doing that if you end up not liking who you first go see!
Good luck!
