I have a 3 year old little girl that refuses to eat anything other than pizza and nuggets. I have tried to give her something different every night in small portions, but it does not seem to help. The doctors say that it is okay as long as she is eating, but I have to wonder how much nutrion she is losing. Any advise is highly welcomed

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, she is still being a picky eater, but I am trying all sugestions. Started to give her a vitamin every day, and she likes them. Hopefully she will grow out of it..Thanks for all of the support.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. From what I understand, kids go through phases of only wanting to eat one or two things. As long as you keep offering the other foods, she will eventually start eating a wider variety again. I would recommend letting her eat the foods she is willing to eat but always offer alternatives with it. As long as she's eating, that's all you can really ask for. Maybe try to put some veggies on the pizza to try to sneak some into her diet. :) If she's too smart for that (which my little guy is), then maybe offer her a daily vitamin while she's going through this phase to ensure she's getting all of the nutrients she needs. Good luck!

With my son it’s Spaghetti-O’s Yuk. He lives on them. My doctor said the same thing; as long as he is eating and healthy than no problems. I give my son a Flintstone vitamin everyday, we use Ovaltine (full of vitamins) instead of sugar filled syrups for chocolate milk. Plus he likes milkshakes, so we make milkshakes and smoothies from fruits and Pediasure. Most kids like Pediasure so maybe try to give her some of that daily. We haven’t stopped trying with other foods either. Hopefully one day he will eat something else before he turns into a Chef Boyardee meatball.

I fought this battle with my 12 year old step daughter also. Came to the same conclusion as your doctor. EVERYTHING has it's nutritional value. As she grows so will her taste buds and acceptance of other foods. If you think about it...even if all she eats is cheese pizza, it has breads....a bit of friut (tomato sauce)protien from the cheese and if there is meat...more protien. So stop worrying so much. Though I do agree with you also about offering alternatives with her meal. One day she just might surprise you. Good luck!!!!

My son's the same way: nuggets, cheese pizza, and we finally got him to eat broccoli and carrot chunks pretty regularly by making them bite-sized for him. I tell them they're little trees and logs and he thinks that makes them fun enough to eat I guess.
I get him to take a vitamin each morning if I can, and the doctors have told me the same about him being fine as long as he's eating. They also suggested mixing one of those instant breakfast powders with his milk in the morning if he is being particularly finicky (he does like chocolate milk, and Carnation makes a passable chocolate breakfast powder).
Other than that, not much advice to offer, but mine's now four and still growing well.
