I'm a female of 27 yrs old and I've been having problems with my armpit order. lately is getting worse to the point that i cannot stand myself. I watched the episode on Mystery Diagnosis in which this girl was diagnosed with TMAU....I don't think I relate to this but I cannot rule it out. Does anyone else know of somoething else that I can do for my situation. My symptom is the armpit order only. i take showers everyday or wash my armpits often but the order is just there all day. i need help...please help me?\

Hi A.,
Shaklee makes a great deordorant cream. One of my customers just called me this week to reorder it. She had run out and starting using her old brand again. She said she had to go back to rewashing in the afternoon and reapplying the other deordorant. When she uses the Shaklee cream she is fine all day. If you are interested, you can find it at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife.

Hi A.,

I feel for you!! I used to sweat like a hog - and I do not use the term lightly. I found a product a few years back called Certain Dri. It is a miracle, I never, ever have dampness under my arms - nor any funky pit odor.

Different things people suggested to me in the past: put your deodorant on at night before bed, clean your pits a few times a day with rubbing alcohol and or tea tree oil, wear cotton.

I have shared with a few friends the certain Dri idea and they ALL love it as much as I do. It's around $7 at any drug store (rite aid, CVS, wallgrees .. ya know?) Seems a little pricey but a bottle lasts forever. And it may take a week or two to really start working so don't get discouraged!

The anitperspirant is in the green bottle, the "freshener" is in the bluish bottle, I suggest getting both. You put the green on at night before bed (it might burn if you've just shaved) and the blue one on in the morning.

It TOTALLY worked for me, I wish I had found the product years ago ...

good luck!

It sounds like you may have a fungus or bacteria growing. Much like my post regarding foot odor a few posts down from yours... maybe try soaking under your arms with some vinegar. Mix up a vinegar warm water solution, soak a rag in it and hold it up under your arm for a few minutes, several times in the evening... see if it helps. It can't hurt.

Yes try to discover the underlying causes.

There is also a product called "Body Mint" which was developed locally here in Hawaii... and it works.
Here is the web link for it:

what about a probiotic to help your body's good bacteria keep the bad bacteria under control.

Or could it be a hormonal thing? I would call the Doc.

Have you used a clinical protection level deodorant? I sweat a lot and therefore used to have bad armpit bo, and this has worked wonders. I also have heard of people getting botox shots in their armpits, but I have never tried it.

Take a look at your clothes labels and see if you have more b.o. from synthetic fibers vs. natural. Lot's of clothes are made with polyester and spandex blends which for some woman can be a problem. Good luck!

As for me, I've tried the clinical strength deodorants, but all they did was dry me out & made me itchy. I guess too dry was too much for my skin. I've learned through process of elimination years ago that I can control odor by just using a roll-on. I guess the coverage is much better for my armpits than sticks or gels, but that's what has helped me for many years now. Good luck.

I have experienced the same thing as an adult, and have been told it is almost certainly hormonal. Just like body odor starts up in puberty when our hormones go crazy, they can do the same thing in adulthood too. You would have to check with your doctor about hormone levels and what if anything you want to do about that. But as for controlling the odor, there are unfortunately no easy answers. There are clinical products out there that work pretty well, but they are SO bad for you and have been linked to cancer. So using them on a daily basis a little scary. I have tried some of the natural deoderants available but have yet to find one that works for me. There are several new ones though that people have had a lot of success with, and I'm hoping to try those soon. If you search the internet you will find them.
I wish I had more specific help to offer, I definitely know how difficult it is to deal with! I will tell you that after about 6 months of it being really bad, it seems to have gotten a little better, guess my hormones are evening out a little. So it may subside on it's own before long.

Have you tried the clinical deodorant?
Maybe you need to detox...determine what you need to eat to start the process. Then do 2-3 days in the hot sauna.
Also - they offer botox for excessive sweating, etc...
Once you fix the problem, have a friend help you sort thru your clothing and throw out whatever items still hold the odor.
Good luck.

Nobody suggested Mitchum Roll-on! It's the ONLY antiperspirant that keeps me from stinking. AND I can't wear synthetic shirts! ONLY cotton.
Good luck!

If you already use deodorant, I would make a doctor's appt to find out what's going on.
