I have a young relative that has a 4 month old baby. She has medicaid but has not taken the baby in for regular visits. Can someone please recommend a pediatrician that accepts Medicaid. I really want help and make sure this baby has the care that she deserves.
It depends on where she lives. Have her call the number on the back of her medicade card and they can give her providers in the area, then you can ask if any one knows about one of those. Also, tell her to keep her doctor appointments and get this child medical care, well baby check ups, shots, etc... If CPS finds out they can take the child for lack of medical care!

This is a recently expanded clinic- it used to be a free clininc in the evenings. They are now full staffed for Medicaid and Chips. The people who work there are great!

When I moved here my daughter was on Medicaid, and I tried several doctors. The problem was that they all treated me like I was stupid or didn't/couldn't take care of my daughter because of the fact that I was on Medicaid. I finally went to Plano Children's Medical Clinic on 14th street and I was so happy. All the staff from the front desk to the pediatrician herself were absolutely wonderful. They treated me like I felt I should be treated and my daughter loved them. The only reason I left was because I got off Medicaid and put my daughter on my insurance plan at work when I got one, and they don't take individual insurance; otherwise, I would still be there!!
Presbyterian Community Medical Center is wonderful!!! Jennifer Lester takes amazing care of the babies. Her staff is wonderful! ###-###-####

I strongly advise you to NOT recommend her to your family!
She's a nice doctor but that's about it!
Her clinic is unprofessional, understaffed and very unfriendly when it comes to parents and your children.
Bobby especially is very rush rush about everything and so rude when it comes to comforting your child about shots, strep tests, etc. (The things our children fear most)
They just want you in and out and she diagnoses just about everything as "allergies"!
And there was a time I called the clinic the minute they opened and they were already booked with sick kids for the day and couldn't see mine!!!
That's pretty bad when you can't get in a clinic the same day your child is sick!
My sister also goes to her clinic and has recently switched to my new clinic in Rowlett.
If your relative lives anywhere close in the Rowlett/Garland area I highly recommend the Family Practive I've started taking my kids to. They are absolutely the most friendly doctors in the world. VERY Friendly staff and you never feel rushed! The Doctors always have a good sense of humor and my kids love seeing them.
My youngest is 17mths and the oldest is 5.
There's 2 doctors there which is good because their never understaffed and I've even called at 1:30 in the afternoon and was seen the same day.

I would like the information for the clinic in Garland/Rowlett, please....
Im with Debbi on this one, Plano Childrens on 14th. If only to see Dr Patricia Petroff and Reagan, they are the best. When we moved to Bonham I tried Dr's there and surrounding and ended up driving way to Plano to take my kids back to Dr Petroff. She is great. She is very nice, concerned and sweet. We are back in Collin Co now, thank goodness and still go there. Good luck.
