My husband's ex-wife has been causing problems. We have missed 3 weekend visitations with his child due to all the drama she and her mother are causing. We are clueless on our next step. His 7 year old claims she doesnt want to be part of our lives anymore and that her step dad can be her father. My husband is crushed, confused, angry, etc. I think legal counsel is the first step. Please help with the name of a good, firm attorney.

What can I do next?

Constance (Connie) Langston in Fort Worth is a great family law attorney who is wonderful. I have never used her myself, but know several friends who have, and all have been extremely pleased with her. Her phone number is ###-###-####.

I don't know of a good attorney - but I do know that if there is a child support order in place, and your husband is meeting those requirements, the ex can not withhold visitations - therefore she is involation of the order and he could win in court against her.

Tarrant County Bar Association has a legal referral service:

David Kulesz is good. He is located in Arlington. His number is ###-###-####. Since his daughter is only 7, it doesn't matter what she says - your husband still has a right to see her and to be her father. Unless her mother can prove he is unfit, he will still have all legal rights to her.

It sounds like your step-child is a victim of Parental Alienation by the custodial parent. I don't know of any recommendations, but I know a group you and your husband can check out in Tarrant county--Texas Father's for Equal Rights
