Hey all, I'm a single parent who just moved here recently and I have been having a hard time locating a good child care provider in my area of Davenport.FL I have no close relatives here at all, so if anyone could let me know where I could possibly find a good provider it would be much appreciated. Thanks. T.

Ask your neighbors and parents at your local park.

I have my MIL watch my daughter, but you can try sitters.com, sittercity.com. I have checked out the site, but haven't needed one yet. Are you looking for daycare? I had my daughter in KinderCare in Celebration and pulled her out after a week. Don't go there.

Good Luck :-)

I don't live in your area but on other such questions quite a few people of suggested sitter city (.com). You could try them, I know they do full background checks and you can read all reviews on each sitter/nanny.

I would look up your local Child Care Resource and Referral as a good starting point. They will only list legal home daycares. But of course being legal, doesn't make them 'good'. But many of them should be able to give references of past and current parents of children they watch.
