Seeking Good and Moderately Priced Daycare in West Fort Worth.

My 17m daughter has been with a sitter since she was 6 weeks. We're moving, and I'd like her to go to an actual structured daycare. I've called several, but I cannot afford more than about $125 a week, and I do not qualify for assistance. Does anyone know of any good daycares in west Fort Worth that are about $125 a week?

What can I do next?

I went to Ridglea West Baptist Church when I was a kid, and I had my daughter there until we moved to NE FTW. I think I paid $120/week while she was there. The church is still there, but to be honest, I don't know if it is still called "Ridglea West Baptist" or if they still have a daycare. It's on Southwest Blvd, just behind the Cadillac dealership, in front of Luella Merrett ES, near the Weatherford Traffic Circle. Anyway, the lady that was running it when I went there as a kid was still running it when I had my daughter there (Gayla Todd). I REALLY liked them. If they are still there and especially if Gayla is still there, they come highly recommended by me. :o) Good luck...I know finding trustworthy childcare can be stressful on us mommies!!

I love 3D Daycare. I have been taking my daughters to them for over 3 years. The center is actually located on the service road of I35 south of Alta Mesa. The website is www.3ddaycare.com.

I do not know what the rate would be for a 17 mo old, but my weekly rate is $125 for both of my daughters for after school care which also includes school pick-up.

You might look for a structured at home care, more than a sitter, for the price you can afford. Most daycares will charge $150 or more a week. I am a listed care facility, from my home that charges $125 for 18 month - 3 yo, I have a schedule that includes learning time, outdoor play and routines. The problem is I am in Saginaw in North FW. I do have openings and 3 kids of my own, one her age. Good luck.

Horizon Kids Too is a fabulous place. They are located at 6129 Plum Street in Watauga. (near the corner of Watauga Rd and Denton Hwy) ###-###-####

My son was there for 2 years and staff NEVER changed, not even one time. They are a wonderful group of people that run the place. It is Christian based. They also have one in Roanoke. The owner just bought all new cots for the kids to sleep on...they are so much nicer than the mats. He also just remodeled the inside and outside. I can't say enough great things about this place. My son was very happy there! He is moving on to Kindergarten now but we will still visit from time to time.

Hey there, You may want to get in touch with the child care resource & referral service for our area. they can provide you with regulated/licensed child care options in your area. For a $10 fee they can also do some of the legwork for you and search based on your budget. I tell everyone I know about this because I wish I had known about it for my boys. Best of luck. OH! even if you don't use their free or paid service, contact them and they will give you tip sheets and checklists to evaluate the centers you go to for quality child care.

I am not sure of cost but here are two that you could call. I have experience with both and have been very happy.

Little People Academy on Meadow Park - ###-###-#### -Ms. DyAnn is the owner/director and she is super nice. This is a very small daycare only about 60 kids or so but I absolutely love them. They also have a very small staff turnover.

Compass Children's Acadamey on Westpoint - 817-246-KIDS -Ms. Pam is the owner/director and right now they are located in a church pending their new building getting its final permits which should be anytime now.

I hope this helps and if you decide to call tell them C. (Sophie's mom sent you).
