Hi Moms,
I am doing a talk soon on family interactions for my moms group. We are a group of moms with mostly preschool aged children. I need some ideas for family oriented & interactive activities. I want to open my ideas up beyond what my family does. It would be great if some could be low cost ideas that are possible almost any time of year. (i.e. making special meals together, flying a kite, etc) Thanks in advance for all of your ideas and help!
Warmly,
AM

Near LAX there are several parks w/picnic areas that allow you to either see planes landing or taking off. One area is right off Imperial Hwy (it runs parallel to the road) Another is across from In N Out on Sepulveda.(This one is fantastic because the planes land right over your head) and a third is across from Dockweiler beach with a small playground, picnic tables and plenty of grass to run around on (the planes are taking off right over your head & this one works well for kite flying as well) Our kids never get tired of these parks because of the thrill of the planes. LAX also has a small museum that is free and is right off of Imperial Hwy. It's called the Flight Path Learning Center Museum.
Hope that's some help!

The Lagoon park in Playa Del Rey. Painting. We use egg cartons to seperate the paint and then they can paint plates. Some games have DVDs with them and they direct the children to jump to new cards and things. My kids still love it and they are 5 and 7.

Carousel at Santa Monica Pier is free for young children and $1 for adults. Santa Monica Playhouse is great for the whole family.
