I know it is a hike for you, but Betty's Fun Center in Aston, PA is GREAT for the very little ones. They have a whole section gated off for kids under 5 and they just renovated and added a bunch of new "soft play" items for the under 2 crowd.www.bettesfuncenter.com We were there this past Wed. and there must have been about 6-7 little kids under the age of 2.
They are $3 on Wed. for all day play. If you google you might be able to find some things like that closer to you.
Hope this helps!

Hi C.,

I, myself am up in North Wilmington.

My daughter and I went to Parent as Teacher Playcenters once a week. Here is their website http://www.christina.k12.de.us/ParentsAsTeachers/.

We also spent time at the local library for storytime. Here is the Bear website http://www.nccde.org/bear/.

During cold weather, my daughter loves the Mall. It is quiet during the day (and if they are walking)they can run around without worry. We would visit Pottery Barn, Disney, KB Toys, etc. It cost me $1 for one of those rides in front of JCPenney and a few pennies for the fountains.

Keep an eye out in the newspaper for other playgroups. Sometimes area churches or synogogues have groups too. Sometime bounce/play centers have special Mommy and me times. We have not gone but try out the Pump it Up in Newport (or you may know somewhere closer.)

We continued to run into the same people over and over again and quickly gained new friendships.

There is gymboree on 202 (not to be confused with the store). It is tucked to the back of the la-z-boy store and I think past scrimmages. I have only been for a birthday party, but it was a lot of fun. The workers are full of energy and there was singing and dancing that most kids can enjoy even if they are not participating.

If the weather is nice, there is the can-do playground. I have never been when it is not full of kids. Hope you find something for your daughter.
