What Carolyn said, and have you tried Gymboree? There are lots of locations, and they are very reasonable.
Peace,

I'm a foreign mom with 3 years old boy. He was born here. I think he has some language problem now. He can't talk, just says some words both languages almost time he is talking something but i can't understand.
I can't give him to child care because it's too expensive. I just took him to Golf malls playground. Do you have any idea I can took him to place where kids singing, playing and talking to each other in around Glenview area?

Some great places in the Glenview area for kids is the Kohl's musuem in the Glen, the Northbrook library on Cherry (free with Thomas the Train, puzzles, toys and great picture books. You can also use your Glenview library card to check out books.)and Northbrook court has a great tree house that the kids love to play on. I hope these ideas help. Have fun. - E.
the Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview is awesome.
J.,
I don't need to mention in detail what Jen already mentioned about getting your child evaluated now to see if he qualifies for an at risk/special ed. program because she did a great job explaining it. If he qualifies, you may not have to pay anything. Please don't procrastinate. Call the school district you are in as soon as possible.
Another person already mentioned Kohl children museum. It's approx. $6.50 per person and you can stay all day. My kids absolutely love the place! We make a day of it and stay for four hours or more! (We just became members because it turns out to be cheaper that way if you go a lot. There are many hands on areas that children can play in, and kids use their imagination in so many ways. Your children could interact with each other, as well as with the other children who are there. There is also a nice park just a couple of blocks away from Kohl. It's located in "the Glen". (Outdoor shopping)
Also, you might want to enroll him in a fun class through the park district. Go on-line and check what classes they have available. I have found the park district that I am in to be very reasonably priced.

The Grove is a fun place. I would consider it a Nature Center/Preserve. Maybe better for Spring/Summer.
Hi, go to your library they should have momy groups and also search google "momies in glenview are" or in yahoo groups mommies or momy or mom groups.
I live in Glenview and I take my son to Gymboree at Old Orchard. I think it is great and I have met lots of great moms. Also the park district in GLenview is great and has some programs for your sons age. And, there is also kindermusik. The women in Glenivew who does it is Bonnie COtter. her website is www.cotter.kindermusik.net
The State of Illinois gives funds to the school districts to provide free and low-cost preschool for kids who need it. Where I live your son would qualify for being from a bilingual family as well as his speech issues. You should call your school district's main office and ask. If there is a space available, he may be able to join a class mid-year.
Also, if his speech is delayed (whatever the reason) he should qualify for special education assistance until he catches up. IDEA is the statute. Kids become eligible at age 3, not at school age. You might be able to get some leads from this site: http://www.nssed.k12.il.us/
With the concerns you are expressing I would suggest I would suggest a much different approach that will be, I am sure, extremely helpful.
First, if you live in Glenview, call your local school district and equest an Early Childhood Assessment. They are required by law to provide you with a free speech and language assessment to determine if there is a more significant problem than English as a second language.
In my profession as a school psychologist, I have worked with numerous young children. Please call your school district today. They will perform the assessment and provide you with ideas for your child, including playgroups, preschools, etc.
