If you're seeking a dentist for your child, Dr. Brain is the one my kids go to. He's wonderful and is very mindful of time. The staff are great people too.
For myself, my husband and my mom (as well as a lot of people in my church), we really like Dr. Dale Bobb off Bridgeport in Lakewood. He is very mindful of your pain tolerance and listens to you! I have a fear of dentists and I feel more at ease with him than any other dentist! He sees kids as well staring at age 3, I think. We take our kids to a new detist that we found here in Puyallup off of Meridian and 176th. It's called South hill Children's Dentistry. We love them. They have the coolest waiting room and are very patient with my son. Good Luck!
Drs. Lo in Lakewood on Steilacoom, near the Jiffy Lube, right next to Curves.
He(Dr. Lo) sees the adults, and sometimes the children if Dr. Ye-Lo(his wife) cannot immediately see the children, but he is primarily adults, and his wife sees the children.
They are both awesome, and their staff is 1st rate!
I highly recommend Allan Tronset, in Parkland (134th and Pacific). He is all the things you mentioned.:)

Dr. Kadoshima in Tacoma is wonderful. I have a fear of dentists and he took the time to talk to me and listens to what I have to say. I always get in on time - which is important when we take the whole family.
