Seeking Daycare in Westchester

I am looking for any daycare recommendations in Westchester. I live in Mount Vernon, but am up for a job in Hartsdale, so anywhere in between is good for me.
I also would love somewhere that offers half days because the hours are a little crazy, and not your normal 9 to 5

I am so so nervous about putting my 2 year old in daycare but I really can't afford to not work anymore.

Thank you so much!!

What can I do next?

There's a place right in Hartsdale that looks really great - but they don't do part-time. But I think they have a great facility and have a great methodology. Very much like a school. It is called Creative Beginnings Children's Center. I'd get in touch with them soon because they may be filling up.

There is also a new one opening in Scarsdale - Cornerstone Children's Center. But it is supposed to be open next Monday and doesn't look like it is quite ready. But they are going to have part-time - not sure if that means half-days or shortened week.

There are a bunch of different locations for Children's Corner in Westchester. My daughter went there for a year which was fine but not great (not so structured, not so professional, very dependent on timeouts). It is possible that some locations are better than others (certainly true with respect to space & facilities). Worth visiting and hearing about their programs.

Hope that helps - good luck!

I hope that helps!

Both of my children went to Crayons, Cookies & Kisses in Ardsley (not far off the Saw Mill, and quite convenient to Hardsdale (crossing Heatherdell) from the time they were 3 months old. You can call Fawn at ###-###-####. She's like family... love her...place is clean, children eat well & have a great time!

Look at www.theboutchkies.com.
If she doesn't have space, she can give you the names of some other great people who may.
Good luck!

Sounds like your schedule will require an option more flexible than a daycare center. Have you considered hosting an au pair? If you have an extra bedroom in your home this may be the most affordable and flexible option you can find. For $340 per week in addition to 45 hours of childcare you would be able to have your childs room kept tidy and laundry done. This may be a huge help once you begin your job. http://egendler.aupairnews.com for more information.
