There is also a great christian (church) daycare at 91 St. and Ridgeland. They charge $165 a week for preschool. From 6 am to 6 pm. They also take babies.

I don't remember the name, but you can stop by and take a look for yourself.

Good luck!

Hi, J.!
I recently had the same problem... it is hard to know what to look for. I used iParenting's preschool/day care checklist to compare three places in the Oak Lawn/ Beverly area. The checklist is on the iParenting website, I think, but I found it by searching "Day care checklist" on Google.

I recently enrolled my daughter in Penny Lane School. She starts on Monday. It is on Southwest Highway in Oak Lawn. We have taken our little one there several times for a visit/tour and she loves it. There is an open house tomorrow from 10-12 (I think). They have a website: www.pennylaneschool.com. My husband and I like it... for what it is worth.

Good luck!
E.

My daughter goes to the Penny Lane on 103rd and Ridgeland and she loves it! The teachers are wonderful. We've had some issues with the administration (they were giving sandwhiches to the toddler room for the summer lunch program, which they weren't eating) but they're reasonable and easy to work with. Now the toddlers and infants have lunch substitutions for the days when the rest of the kids have sandwhiches on their field trips.

Cecelia has been going there since she was 4 months old and our experience has been great. Good Luck!

I'm not sure if your still looking for childcare but I would love to help. My husband and I just moved into our first home in Oak Forest and I would love to provide childcare for working moms out there. My goal is to provide a warm enviroment that is more family oriented rather than a day care setting. We do lots of fun activities such as finger painting, reading, baking cookies, etc. My rates are much lower than the day care centers in the area and include all meals (mostly home cooked). My hours are Monday through Friday from 6a.m.-6p.m. I am a stay at home mom of 2 boys ages 2 & 5. If you or anyone you know may be interested please feel free to email me at ____@____.com
