Hi A.,

My daughter takes ballet at Baby Take a Bow (www.babytakeabowchicago.com). They also offer Hip Hop classes, but I have yet to see any boys there. A friend of mine took her child to a dance class at the Old Town School of Folk Music. You could try there -- www.oldtownschool.com.

Good luck!
R.

Did you check out Hubbard Street yet? http://www.hubbardstreetdance.com/youthdance

I went to an Open House when my son was 2 years old and there were other little boys there. I would say it seems like most parents only sign up their little girls for dance classes, which is a shame.

My daughter took baby ballet at a local studio and there were boys in some of the classes, though understandably few in ballet. But those boys got great parts in the recitals!:-) I'd call around to places you'd like to go to and see what they offer and recommend. We took an "acro-dance" class at a community center - maybe something that combined dancing and acrobatics would be fun for him. I'd also see if a friend and her son would like to do a class with you. That way he has a boy pal built in!
