pasadena city college has a great program as well as Glendale city college. Glendale is free, don't know about Pasadena though. Give them a call.
Hi, I'm looking for any community programs or activities for my 10 month old girl. We want to interact with other parents and infants. My little one has stranger anxiety and would like to get her used to see unfamiliar faces.

Look into www.momsclub.org
Try story time! That is free, easy and nonthreatening. I LOVE storytime with my baby. The Arcadia, Temple City and Monrovia libraries all have storytime for infants. I'm not sure what the ages are for the other libraries. I've only been to the Arcadia one but really enjoyed it. Very low key and cute.
Also, these classes are a little pricey but have a great reputation:

I was referred by another mom who loved them! I haven't taken them yet but am signed up for fall.
Hi C.! I am the organizer for a Mommy Group called MaMas of SGV (Magnificent Matriarchs of San Gabriel Valley) Our activities consist of park dates, play dates in private homes, free activities, walks, strolls, pot lucks, MaMa massage, happy hours with the kids, nights in & nights out without the kids (because you need a break too!) Check out the 'About' page.
We have a lot of fun and at our last park date I was really touched to see the different MaMas playing with kids other than their own. I think it is a great thing for everyone involved and it gets us out of the house!

good luck!
Hi C.,
Check out the website, www.outsidethebox4babies.com or check out the article in the publication, Wet Set Gazette(can view it online), called "A new way to play." OTB is a play group for Moms and babies that focuses on activities that enhance early brain development. It's not only backed by research but it's really FUN! I'm sure this would be a great way for you to connect with other Moms!!
The Pasadena Kid's space museum has great programs for young children. My daughter has been going there for 2 years, she's 3 now, and LOVES it. Her instructors have been awesome and friendly and I truly believe they have helped with my daughter's confidence. Visit their website for more information. My daughter and I are very happy with Kid's Space.
I don't know about Pasadena, but I can highly recommend the Burbank Adult School's Parent Education class - their program saved me - I was a newly stay at home mom and very lonely (+ it's extremely reasonable, since it's a nonprofit program). You participate in arts, crafts, circletime, singing, dancing etc. then while you go to discussion group with other parents and teacher, an assistant teacher and assisting parents take care of the kids.
Contact Linda Matsumoto at Burbank Adult School or visit www.burbankparented.org to find out more. One thing is for sure - you'll LOVE it!!!

Try MOPS and Pasadena City College (PCC) has a great progam that is free.
Dear C.,
I am an older mom...kids in high school & college now... but when my kids were little I went to mommy & me thru our local city college.. PCC... they really have an excellent program called Parent Ed that meets weekly with a teacher to lead discussions for the moms and play time for the kids. Also, Lake Avenue Church has a terrific program called MOPS ( Mothers of Preschoolers)... you can find out more about this program and you can also signup for it on the church website lakeave.org. Blessings. J.
Hello! I highly recommend Sign and Sing Baby (www.signandsingbaby.com) It's a fantastic mommy and me baby sign class offered in Monterey Park and San Gabriel for children aged 0-3. They run 8 week sessions of 45 minute classes once a week for only $89. It's super affordable compared to most mommy and me classes in the area.
you've probably had a million responses but here's the BEST by far!!!!!! go to pcc..check out the parenting classes through the community center thing. they are FREE, they are FUN, they are awesome. they're held all over the place and you can make some real friends that way and the kids too! my son went for about 3 years and even ended up going with my mom when he couldn't go with me. it was so good for him and the adults and it made a huge difference in our lives. it was like preschool without sending your kid away, it's like a parenting class for first time moms, but more like a group of moms sitting around chatting with an experienced teacher! i hope you check it out. it'll be something to recommend to your clients too!!! : )
