hi, moms! after another visit with my ob/gyn, i am now on the hunt for a new ob/gyn physician. i will need to deliver at women's hospital and have looked for a female ob/gyn, but haven't had much luck. if you have seen either of these doctors and have comments good or bad, please let me know! it is so frustrating looking for a new doctor!

ive seen dr krell. he is a gentle kind man. he was great taking care of me. however i would perfer to see another gyn/ob. the only reason is because after i had my daughter, my incesion from my c-section was extremly red. he told me to come back in a week or so, no went back in two days from pain, it was horriably infected. they had to reopen about an inch clean it out and pack it. i had a nurse come to my home twice a week for 3 weeks.

Hi B. -

I've seen both Dr. Teicher and Dr. Shelburne - both are very nice. I've had midwives deliver both my boys - Martha Tiryaki cared for me during both pregnancies and she's wonderful. Maybe give her a try if you're really wanting a female? The midwives are usually the ones who do deliveries at Women's anyway, unless you're having some sort of complications or are high risk.

Hello B.!
I went to Dr. Shelbourne for my first son and he was INCREDIBLE. I have never loved or trusted a doctor more than him. I was soooo sad when my insurance changed to Pres and I had to deliver my second son with another Dr. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Shelbourne- above any other OB out there. Good luck!

Hope you find someone you like.

I have been seeing Dr. Teicher for 11 years and I have been very pleased with him. I could not find a female doctor that would work for me and Dr. Teicher has been wonderful. Good luck on the search.

I have Pres insurance so haven't seen any of these doctors myself, but I have a number of friends who LOVE Dr. Teicher. I think he is set up with midwives as well, and that you can see the doctor and then female midwives some of the time. The recommendations I have heard are all incredibly positive!

Dr. Teicher is great. Very personable, with a good bedside manner. I just delivered my son at home with a midwife. I was a vbac, so I went in to see him as a consult at 38 weeks. He is a friend of my midwife. He was very supportive of my choices, and went over all important criteria, without being condesending.
I have had some bladder problems related to the birth, and he was kind enough to give me a call at home, saying "congratulations" first. He then offered advice and told me if I wanted to be seen, he would fit me in that morning.
He is very busy, as the down side, but it is obvious why. My midwife is retiring, so I am choosing to see him for any appointments I might need in the future.
Hope this helps.
T.
