Check the State of Texas website under children and family. You can get a list of all in home childcare's that are registered or listed with the state in your area. Each will provide a phone number and I would hit the phones because costs can vary. I was pretty picky when my kids were in daycare and looked at alot of places before making a decision. I don't know what age they start at but Hamilton Academy off Valley View in Carrollton/Farmers Branch was wonderful. They have been there a long time and we were very pleased- my daughter attended there when she was 2. Good luck!

Hi! I don't know if you would be interested in having a nanny instead, but if you might consider that, I just finished a job with a family I have worked with for three years. I am looking for another position and thought maybe this might be a good idea for you, since you're kind of nervous about putting your daughter in a daycare. I have excellent references, ten years childcare experience, my own transportation and clean driving record, as well as I used to have CPR/BFA certification, but it expired, so I can renew it, if needed. I usually charge between $7-$10 per hour, depending on what other extra duties are included in the job, besides childcare. If this is something you might consider and can afford, please let me know and I would love to tell you more about me and get my reference info to you. Thank you and good luck in your search!

Hi A.,

I had the same kind of concerns when I was looking for daycare for my now 5 year old when she was an infant. All the daycare formats have pros and cons. And there are good and bad ones in each. You have to choose the type that fits your needs best.

I ended up choosing an in-home daycare for both my girls (my second daughter is now 14 months and been with her day care since she was 3 months old): more 1:1 attention, smaller group of kids so can get to know them better, etc. Our current day care provider is in Plano off Coit and Parker. Trish has over 20 years experience, two degrees in childcare, and only serves organic food to the kids. I did ALOT of research and interviewed several providers before choosing Trish. Let me know if you are interested and Ill get you her information and how much she charges.

Id also be happy to share what I learned in my research if you are interested.

Best of luck!

There is a childcare association, www.pickofnorthtexas.com, which has providers that are all legal with the State of Texas. Check out our website. If you have any other questions please use the contact form on it. Good Luck!
