We had my sons first birthday at the VFW hall at Canfield and Higgins in Park Ridge and they were very reasonable and you can bring any food you want and they have the drinks.
Please help. My family wants to have an eeenormousss baptism crowd for my first son-- 96 guests! This is too much for our house and we must go elsewhere, but every banquet hall and restaurant I've looked into is something like $18 a person. I just want an informal party! I'd be happy to order pizza or sub sandwiches. Does anyone have any ideas for where we can get just a space rental or big pizza place or something? The church is in Bucktown and we live in Jefferson Park so anything from here to there would do. Thanks!

Colletti's on Elston and Central.
I used them for my wedding rehersal and my brother used them for my nephews christening.
Good food at reasonable prices.
We went to a baptism reception at teh VFW in park Ridge. It was really nice and very affordable. Good luck.
There is a church on Dickens near Damen (big white cathedral)that may still have a hall next to it. I don't know if that has been sold off or anything but that has rooms they may rent. Or even ask the church uyou are having the baptism at. I would just give them a call. Also, a VFW hall on Cortland near Wood or Paulina--FDR? I think is the name. They may rent out. Some places also rent just the hall. Also try Holstein Park. They might rent the gym.
Since you just need the space check out Schorsch Hall on Belmont or park district fieldhouses.
We had my son's party at Vince's Italian restaurant- but for the next baby we are going to try to have it at Giordano's on Irving Park RD.
