I bought an animated pony at a 2nd hand store only to get it home and discover it did not work. My 2 1/2 yr old was heart-broken when I had to take it back. I cannot afford to buy one of these new as they retail $200+. However, I would really like to be able to give her one for Christmas. I am looking for a soft pony that can be sat on or rode and makes horse/galloping noises. Please let me know if you have one for sale or know of one. I don't want to pay much more than $50. Used is definitely okay.
Thank you all for your suggestions. I did look at CVS and Walgreen's, but they were a bit smaller than what I was looking for. I did find a beautiful rocking horse on craigslist and met the lady in Grapevine for pickup. My daughter loves it! My family and I had a wonderful day in Grapevine and visited the ICE at Gaylord Texan.

Costco has really cute soft rocking horses with reins that make horsey and clopping nosies! I think it's about $40 (maybe less, but definitely not more). all the toddlers that I see around it seem to LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! My toddler son loved it too!
You might try joining a freecycle yahoo group. These groups are for offering and requesting items so they don't go to the dump. Everything is absolutely free. In fact, it is against the rules to ever ask for money in exchange. Just google Freecyle yahoo groups for your area.
