Seeking an Officiate to Perform a Wedding Ceremony

My neighbor's daughter is planning for a wedding in September -- there's one problem -- she can't find a religious officiate to perform the wedding ceremony because she and her fiance are living together. Does anyone know of a congregation in So. Orange County that has ministers/officiates who perform ceremonies to couples who are living together?

Thanks, M.

Hi M.,

I would highly recommend Pastor Gary Barmore. He married us 10 years ago. We liked him so much after doing our wedding that we joined his church. Everyone at my wedding commented on how great our ceremony was. It was very personal and meaningful. A interesting fact is that he recently perfomed the wedding ceremony for the couple that got married on the season finale of Real Orange COunty Housewives. Here is his webiste information if you want to contact him.

Good luck!

When my husband and I got married we used The Clergy Network. They can be found at http://www.theclergynetwork.com/. We had lived together for many years and they did not find that to be a problem. We had a wonderful ceremony and felt very comfortable with the person who officiated.

Hi,
My husband and I got married few years ago by a nice guy named Chris who lives in HB. We wanted to take a sudden plunge and needed a minister right away. He is christian and he officiates weddings and also officiate memorials and does counseling for grieving. He married us at our home so he can go to your location. I am not sure if he does have an official church to officiate your wedding. He doesn't seem to be rigid about couples living together or so, after all marriage is the best solution for couples that are already living together and I am sure he encourages couples in this situation to mind as well get married.
I don't have the number but if you are interested I can get it for you. I just have to make a couple of calls to find out his number. Le me know.

Good luck,
P.

Many counties in California allows ANYONE to be an officiant for the day....but not Orange County...I know, NOT helpful. Here's some more info...

We lived together for a few months before we got married and we were living in the Bay Area, but got married in Malibu and our officiant was from San Diego....but he was terrible...so I can't even give you a referral. Good luck!
