I am moving to Chesapeake next week and just found out that I am 3 1/2 weeks pregnant! This is my first child and I really would like to find a great obstetrician in the area. I don't know many people in the area so I am seeking the advice of other moms who liked their doctors!

What can I do next?

Congrats C.. I, like Jennifer, also recommend The Group for Women. My ob/gyn is Dr. Fernandez and she is also an awesome dr. I live in Chesapeake so I do go to the office behind Chesapeake Regional hospital, but The Group also has offices in Norfolk whick is also great for me since I work in Norfolk and may sometimes schedule appointments there for convience. Good Luck!!!

Hi. I go to Complete Womens Care off of First Colonial Rd in Virginia Beach. I know this would be a drive for you being in Chesapeake and all. Oh they just opened an office off of Princess Anne. I have had both my boys with them and they are great. You don't see just one doctor unless you ask specifically for that person. My favorite is Dr. George, she is female and she delivered both my kids. And I plan to see her when we concieve with #3. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. Their number is ###-###-####.

A lot depends on where you want to deliver as well. I loved Chesapeake General Hospital's prenatal unit so I made sure I chose someone who could deliver there. My doc was Dr. Stephen Powers at Total Care for Women off of Battlefield Blvd in Chesapeake. He was wonderful, and his partner Dr. Rector delivered a friend's two babies as well. I liked him as well. http://www.midatlanticwomenscare.com/Pages/TotalCare2.html

What part of Chesapeake (it's a big area)? Dr. Margie Corney is on Greenbrier Parkway near the DMV office. She is WONDERFUL! I've been with her for 15+ years. She has guided me through endometreosis, infertility issues and then the pregnancies of my two sons (8yo & 5yo). I drive from Suffolk to see her now (and through out my second pregnancy). She delivers at Chesapeake General which was also great. Congratulations & good luck!
