find doctors that you like.
you sound a bit overwhelmed as you should with 4 kids in under 8 years plus with medical problems.
married? single? family help?
I am 27 years old and have been having medical problems for about 9 years now. I was diagnosed with "possible Lupus"(undifferentiated connective tissue disease) a few years ago and just recently my Rhumatologist added Fibromyalgia. I have had very many things and many symptoms over the years, too long to list here. Plus, I hate going through them because it makes me feel like a hypochondriac(sp?). I am fed up with the medical doctors anymore. I feel like they don't understand and that since I am not dying they won't really try to help me. I honestly cry in my car in their parking lot after seeing them most of the time. I feel alone and barely want to go on anymore like this sometimes.
I am 27 years old and feel similar to my mother who is 60. I am constantly in pain and have no energy, amoung a few other things. I have 4 kids and feel like I can't be the active mother I want to be.
I want to start looking into alternative treatments. I don't really know where to start. I believe that most of the products and stuff out there are scams. I am looking for some people that may have tried things that worked and can tell me about it. Please don't try to sell me things! I am looking for some advice. I also would like to know where I can get more information. I don't know where to start or what's for real.
Thanks!

Sorry to hear you are so ill. I highly advise the excellent paperback book called, Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Balch & Balch. It is all the necessary information for you to switch to natural supplements for healing and gives you all the background info that your doctors to not give you. It is 25.00 but well worth it !
Good luck !

Hi R.,
Look up on the computer.
The American College of the Advancement in Medicine.
Find a Doctor near you.
Hope this helps. D.
I say don't give up and keep trying until you find a doctor who believes in you. Did you ever watch Mystery Diagnosis on TV? It's interesting. It's about people just like you who for years doctors dismissed, and they eventually get to the bottom of it, but in many cases, the people struggle for years until they can't take it anymore (not to say that you are on that road at all)... and at one point, it is taken seriously when it has more detrimental effects. You should not need to suffer. As far as your question on alternative medicines, a good health food store or a nutritionist may be able to help. I wish you the best on your road to recovery!
R.,
I like Woodlands Healing & Research Center in Quakertown. They offer alternative treatment and traditional medicine both. They were the place I finally went to when no other doctors or specialists could help me. They take all major insurances.
I liked them because they took the time and tests to look for the problem, not just treat the symtpoms. That was when I finally started to feel better. The phone number is ###-###-####.

That must be very frustrating!
Well, your conditions are really auto-immune and inflamation disorders. Dietary changes & certain herbal supplements and detoxifications would go a LONG way for you, I'd bet. (For your children's sake, I also really suggest that you read "What your Dr. May NOT Tell you about Childhood Vaccines" since these conditions can be hereditary & can triggered by certain vaccines).
I really think that a Naturapath or maybe even a D.O./Osteoptath would be a much better fit for you than an M.D. would be. A good place to start might be Dallas Wellness Center, on Freemansburg in Easton. I don't know how far that is from you & to be honest, I've never been there, but I know they do a lot of alternative medicine there.
I know there's another place in Catasaqua/Bethlehem/Allentown area that I have the name of (just can't think of it off the top of my head!) but I can get it if you're interested. A good chiropractor could be a HUGE help to you too. If you live in the Easton area, I'd be more than happy to share the name/contact info for mine. He's wonderful & EXTREMELY knowlegable!
Good luck, sweetie!
