I am having some trouble with my 9th grader in her school grades. She seems to be struggling more and more as time passes. I am looking to make a change of schools but what I want is somewheres I can send her and where they will give her more into detail teaching, like one on one. Also I know that she was pretty nervous about the whole thing about the state test and feel that she might not of passed it and might have to attend summer clases in order to get her credits. I know that she was pretty upset and discouraged after meeting with the counselor and just feels frustrated about school period.

What can I do next?

I can totally relate to where you are right now. I have a 9th grade son and when he was in 7th and 8th grade he was not doing well. He was going to Gunn JR. High in Arlington. He needed help getting up to par and getting on track and liking to learn again. I have enrolled all three of my school age children at the Flint Academy in Arlington. They work with me on the money and it is well worth what I am paying. He has learned so much this year and is enjoying school so much. He gets a lot of help in the areas that he needs and he no longer hates learning. My second grader, also a son, hated public school first grade, if you can imagine that. Who hates first grade? Well, he did. But he loves going to school now and he is learning so much. And they have caught that he has a minor tendancies in deslexia which AISD never mentioned to me before. But Flint Academy works with them to correct that. My youngests is in Kindergarten and LOVES it, too. Check out the website and contact the director if you are interested in starting now. They have new kids start all the time. www.flintacademy.com If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Before you consider moving your daughter to a different school, maybe you should consider getting her into a tutoring class or have her tested to see what is her learning skill level. She might have a problem with comprehension. Also, you will need to do a lot of praying asking God to help you with your daughter to find a solution to her problem. I hope this advice will be of some help.

In Red Oak they have the Life Charter School, In Waxahachie they have the Cornerstone Charter School/Eagle Advantage School, and the best private school I know is Ovilla Christian School. Dont send her to Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill. I also heard about a school called Waxahachie Prep School that is good for kids who dont like school.
