You probably need to call your doctor they can give him some medication for the allergic reaction. Maybe even reclean your carpet with just water. It might help take the chemicals out of the carpet.
Hi Moms,
I hope some of you will have a suggestion on a little troubling scenario I have going on...About few weeks ago, we had our carpet clean (Oxycleaner). The cleaning company reassured me it was safe to stand or touch the carpet immediately after it was cleaned, but few days later, my two year old started develpoing rash on his hands and feet. The rash appears to be in patches, very itchy, and red. His hands and feet seem to be warm and he doesn't allow me to touch the areas that are affected.
If anyone has had similar scenario and has some suggestions on what kind of treatment I could use, please share with me.
Thanks a lot!

check out with the doc to be sure. probably an allergy and you may need to have that carpet "rinsed." But there is a thing called hand, foot and mouth.....i don't think it would last this long, but peek in the babies mouth too. It's just a virus and it goes away.
Don't know about the carpet cleaning, but I do know that I tried Oxyclean in the laundry for a while and my son developed "eczema" on his hands (the dermatologist diagnosed him). As soon as I stopped using the Oxyclean, his hands got better and it never came back. I assumed he was allergic to it or something. Maybe your son is too.
I don't have any experience with carpet cleaners but as far as the rash I would let him play in a warm bath with an oatmeal based soap like Aveeno to try and help sooth the itch and redness. you can also put him to bed with boudreax's butt paste or a similar rash ointment even Aveeno ointment on the areas, since it is on his hands and feet you can put the ointment on then put socks and gloves on him. He may feel uncomfortable with that on but it might be worth a try. The only thing I would worry about is the warm feeling you spoke of that might mean he needs a doc prescribed medicated ointment, it might be a more of an allergic reaction as apposed to an irritation to whatever they used. Hope he feels better.
