J.,

WAIT! It can literally take 3 years to get your body back after having kids, and any doctor that would consider doing surgery on you - especially now - is just out for money.

It gets better!

Slow down girl! Give exercise a try first! Surgery of any kind can have complications and you don't need that at this time of your life!

I'm guessing you are young - your body's natural ability to heal should kick in and help the stretched and it is waaaaaaaay better for you to exercise to get rid of the extra flab. You get soooo many benefits from exercising and you don't really get that many HEALTH benefits from that kind of surgery! Email me if you want to know some of the benefits I have realized by exercising!

I would wait and see what your body looks like after about a year, to a year half. I'm 5'3 and have twin girls about 6 1/2 years ago. I was a size 0,1,2. After I had them I was an 8. I got rid of all my clothes and bought new ones. When the girls started crawling and walking I dropped back down to a size 4,6. I looked a lot healthier. I have the saggy skin in the tummy, and thicker thighs. I also got a herniated belly button with the girls, and it only got worse when I was pregnant with me son. So for two reasons I'm going to have a tummy tuck. One cause the heria really needs to be fixed. Should have been fixed after I had the girls, but the doc told me to wait if I was going to have anymore kids. It would just happen again. Second.. I can't stand all the loose skin. I've also already done the gym thing, and talked with acouple different doctors about it. I've tighed the muscles all I can under the skin. sorry and I go on and on.. :)

I'd wait till the kiddo's are crawling and walking (cause you'll drop a ton of weight trying to keep up with them :), and go to the gym now. Then after a year or so, you'll really see what your body will look like. Your still holding on the weight from being pregnant and if you breastfeeding you'll hold a little more. I'm holding about 10 to 12 more lbs than normal cause I'm breastfeeding. My son will be 3 months on the 12th.

Hi J.,

I agree with the comments below. If a plastic surgeon is agreeing to do this surgery on you three months post partum, you need to run the other direction! That is not enough time at all for your body to have returned to it's normal state. Not only will exercising make you feel better about yourself, it tightens stretch marks and helps them appear less noticeable. Eating a clean, healthy diet will make the biggest difference in fat storage and how quickly you make gains from working out. You should give yourself nine months before you get discouraged. It took nine months to put it on, it usually takes the best of us (even the very disciplined) nine months to get it off. Good luck with whatever you decide and try not to be so hard on yourself;-)

Hi J.,
It can very be discouraging after twins! I have twin boys that just turned three and another son that is 18 months old. Yes, I have that hanging skin called "twin skin." Please wait before you do anything. It does get better. It took me a year to recognize myself after having the twins. I gained a lot of weight. My twins weighed 7lbs. 5 oz and 6lbs. 11 oz. They were big and so was I. I am only 5'2'' and gained close to 60 plus pounds with them. Take your time and don't beat yourself up. Enjoy your precious babies right now and your body will return. I truly hope that you find encouragement in this post. It simply takes awhile especially after twins with all of the extra hormones in your body.

It hasn't been long enough since the birth of you twins to be back in (shape) . I know with twins it may be hard to find time to exercise, but just a few a day, and eathing healthy, it will come back. I'd wait and see before doing a procedure, there always seems like risks with any procedure.

I would not advise it. It is dangerous and if you happen to gain any weight back the fat won't adhere to the skin and it will look like cottage cheese. True Story. I've seen it too many time. I its your abs look into the injections that disolve the fat or have a good old fashion tummy tuck.

J., your babies are only 3 months old!!!! Give yourself some time to let your body get back to normal. With single baby's it takes a year or so for the body to get back to a normal state. Wouldn't it be only reasonable for a little longer with twins. Enjoy those babies and nature will take its course on your body. I have a neighbor who wore a size 3 before she had her first child and gained 80+ lbs and when the child was 2 she was wearing a size 3 again.
Good luck, J.

Don't do it!!! Give your body time to come back on its own!! Believe me, it will. I have 6 beautiful children and every pregnancy is different, each baby has had different needs and born in different seasons. One good thing for you is that right now it is so nice out before the sun comes up (and right after it rises) and babies loves walks with Mom!!! I don't get to go to the gym anymore (right now) so getting out to walk really lifts the spirit and the oxygen boosts your metabolism!! Even if you can only squeeze that is a couple of times a week, I really think you will feel encouraged.

A little over three years ago I had lipo on my thighs & hips all the way down to my knees. My doctor was Charles Wallace @ A New Reflection in Plano. I am 5'2, & before having my son 15 years ago I was a size 5 and weighed 120 lbs. I was 20 years old when I had him, & the pregnancy RUINED my body. I have fluxuated between sizes 7 & 9 ever since...which is too big for a 5'2 frame. I weigh 133 now because I have not worked out in a year & could stand to tone up. Also, I will be 35 next month & my metabolism isn't what it was when I was 20. Still though, I have successfully kept the weight off that Dr. Wallace removed three years ago. My experience was pain free, & I am not exaggerating. The hard part about it though, was wearing the tight, lycra girdle all the time, every day for the next couple of months after the procedure. It felt like the greatest thing ever once I got to toss the stupid thing!
