At age 1 (he's now 5) my youngest had tubes put in at Central Dupage. The whole experience was nice, and the staff seemed great. He didn't have to stay there though. I think some of that depends on your doctor as well.. He had Dr. Donat.

My husband and I have had procedures done at edwards, and both of my sons were born there. I have never had issue with the hospital and usually receive great care!!

My last two children were born in Edward Hospital and the experience has been great! I've also taken the children to Edward's emergency room and they took my son right away and the nurses were great too!

Hi N.,
I have great experience with Edward Hospital. Both of my children were born there and we all had excellent care. The nurses were great and so was the environment. My best friend had back surgery a couple of years ago at CDH. The hospital wasn't bad, she had problems with some of the nurses getting to her room to take care of her. She needed assistance with getting out of bed to go to the washroom, sometimes she would have to wait for an hour That wasn't the only negative thing.

Good Luck

My daughter had her adenoids out at CDH and my son had ear tubes put in at Edward so I've got "experience" with both. Both hospitals were great, but if I HAD to choose which I liked better, I guess I'd say Edward. The registration & pre-op procedures were a bit smoother and the facility was, in my opinion, a bit nicer at Edward. Also, I liked that at Edward we had a private "holding" room to get my son changed into and out of his hospital garb. At CDH, there was a locker room to get changed (although it was a nice room, just not very private). However, my daughters adenoids were removed 2.5 years ago and I know CDH has gone through some major renovations since then (especially in the Mother-Baby unit, which is now fantastic!). Either way you choose, you will be in great hands! Best of luck to you.

Hi,
Both of my girls were born at CDH, and it was a great experience both times. My older daughter was hospitalized there at 3 months, and the staff was great. We were also just there yesterday to see a specialist from the Children's memorial division at CDH, and once again they were great. I don't know anything about Edwards, but I do recommend Central DuPage. Good luck!
