I am doing some research for a friend who is interested in moving her family into Castle Hills in Lewisville. Does any body have an opinion in this community? How are the schools there?
Any advice good or bad would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your help.

Castle Hills is technically in Lewisville (long story but basically Carrollton didn't want it, Lewisville did). It is upper end, houses range from the 300's to the multi-millions. It's very much a family-oriented community -- parks everywhere, pools, tennis, basketball, golf. This is their website: www.castlehills.com

Here is some information on the elementary school:
http://www.lisd.net/main/schools/castlehills.html

Right now the middle school is Creek Valley: http://www.lisd.net/main/schools/creekvalley.html
and the high school is Hebron High: http://www.lisd.net/main/schools/hebron.html

But another middle school is in the process of being built (across Parker from Castle Hills) and the high school is in the planning stages.

Hope that helps.

I have friends that live there and they said their taxes are a bit higher b/c of the new schools that are going up in the community. Their kids aren't school age yet so I don't know about the schools.

However, there's one thing your friend should know about the whole Castle Hills community. They have horrible foundation problems. There are several law suits currently brought by homeowners who are having bad foundation problems already, and as you know the houses there are NOT old.

Tell your friend to do her homework thoroughly (and not just go by what the builder tells them; remember the builder is in the business to sell!). Check out all the articles she can from past news stories and public record she can about foundation issues and lawsuits pertaining to this area before she buys something there.

Good luck!

My son goes to Primrose at Castle Hills--he's in the private kindergarden program--he's been going there since July, and I really like it--as far as the neighborhood--very nice, although I did hear there were quite a few foundation problems several years ago--SO many houses being built there, in all different price ranges

Your going to find a lot of families and all income levels. A lot of the 1st time home owners got a great buy and then the value of the homes went up. Great for kids and getting to know your neighbors. There are parks and lots of kids running around I don't know anything about the schools.
