Some insurance companies will pay for a nurse to come out and do home health services, something to check into. Good luck.
We recently found out our 4 year old daughter will have to have a weekly shot for her kidneys. We used to give her shots at home when she was first born. But now that she is 4, I don't want to do it myself (on top of all the other medications I have to administer to her), and I want to keep our home a "happy" place from her hospitalizations. I called my pediatrician to see if I can bring her in every week and they are going to call me back on Monday. I also hate to be charged a doctor's visit every week for just a shot. I wish I could find a doctor's office that wouldn't charge me to bring her in weekly just to administer the shot. I would even already have the medicine myself. Of course, asking for free medical service is a joke I know. (seeing all our sky high medical bills we pay) Does anyone have any advice to make this easier on me? I would give her the shots myself, but after everything she goes through already, I hate to do it.

I was going to say try to hire a nurse (or maybe a phlebotomist) to do it. Maybe you could find a retired nurse in the neighborhood whom you could take your daughter to. Maybe one of the nurses in the office would do it in the evening for you. Just a thought. Sorry I don't have a better answer and I'm sorry your daughter (and you) have to be in this situation. I have a 4yo too and I can only imagine.
Take care...
I know you don't want to give the shots, but if you don't find any other options, maybe you could designate a certain (not frequently used) space or closet of your house as the "shot spot" where she only goes for a shot, then keep that area stocked with a couple of special toys she only gets to play with after the shot, or a special "treat" that she only gets that one time a week after the shot. She will soon learn that after the yucky shot, something good will happen and hopefully that will make it a little easier. Good luck--I know this must be hard.
My mom is an RN and she's the type of person that you could ask to do that for you for free (but she doesn't live close by). But what if you found a Registered Nurse or a Physician's Assistant that lived nearby and would help you with the shots? Maybe someone on this board could help you out.
