Check on Yahoo for moms groups in your area. Lots of groups out there that are active. You just need to find one that suits you.

I am a Stay at home mom, that isn't getting bored with staying at home, just a bit lonely. I love staying at home, and feel lucky to be able to do so, but just feel that I would like to do something with my son outside of the house. All of my friends with children work full time, and it is hard to have playgroups with them, and weekends fill up so quickly. I can only shop so much, and my son is getting bored with going to the park, taking walks, etc... Any ideas, or do you know of playgroups within the area of Redford, Livonia, Plymoth, Canton, areas?

If you hear of anything interesting, please let me know! I feel just the same way, but you put it so much better than I could! I feel fortunate to be able to stay home with my 18-month-old daughter, but sometimes I panic when trying to think of what we're going to do for the day.
I am 29, happily married to a very busy man, and have an 18-month-old daughter, Avery.
I don't know how close you are to Canton, but I belong to a mom's group called Canton Area Moms 4 Community. The website is www.moms4community.org. You don't need to live in Canton to join, but most of our activities are in Canton or nearby. We have a calendar or activities for each month plus age appropriate play groups that usually meet once a week. It has been a saving grace for me as I was getting very lonely being a SAHM too. I joined when my son was about 8 months. He's almost two now and it has been so great for him too as it has provided so many more opportunities for him to socialize with other kids than I would have been able to provide myself. If you're looking for something closer to where you live, try checking online to see if there are any Mom's groups in your area. Good luck!
I would contact the city recreation office. I know in Sterling Heights there are lots of programs for stay at home moms with little or no fee. Also check your local library for programs during the day.
Good luck.
