Seeking a Place to Live in DFW Metroplex Between Plano and Fort Worth

Grapevine/Southlake has a great school system and would be about midway between your jobs. Coppell is another good option. Just know that the freeways going to Ft Worth are under construction (all of them) and the traffic can be a nightmare. Construction won't be done for a couple of years.

ETA - Rush hour FM to Ft. Worth is going to be about the same as Coppell or Carrollton. All those freeways around the airport are under major construction: 114, 183, 820, 35 - and they all back up pretty bad.

If it were me, I would live where children are in Plano ISD, which means closer for you personally.

There are lots of nice neighborhoods off the tollway and Park, Parker, etc which feed into great schools.

PISD schools are known for being better, you just have to figure out which ones are rated highest Nd you can do that online. I know the Sr high school is in the top 1% of America and Also rated very high in other ratings as well.

The travel to Ft Worth is not fun but the new tollway is a benefit.

There is not a easy way for both of you to commute with that kind of distance in between. It really isn't doable and have a quality home life. One of you or both of you will spend the majority of your time at work and in the car. I have lived all over this area, all of my life, and there is no way I would have a job in Plano and my husband work in Ft. Worth. As you know from living in the DFW area, all of the highways are constantly under construction and I'm sure you are aware the traffic is horrendous at best. I had to go to Irving from Rockwall in the middle of the weekday - it took me 3 hours! It should only take an hour. Every single highway, I-30, I-35, 635 (LBJ) and Hwy 67, was a parking lot. For the statistical info., I would recommend to google and get published information instead of personal opinions. Realtor.com is a good source for house information. Good luck!

I would agree about Grapevine or Coppell. Your commute on the tollway would not be too bad, but your husband would have to find a way around all the construction on the way to FW.
