Greeting Tammi,
Have you ever tried a Unity church? It's different than Unitarian. I think I understand what you are looking for. Many years ago, in my search to find a church that I felt spiritually aligned with, I went to a Unitarian church and there were things that I liked about it (open minded, accepting, kind, etc) however, I come from a Christian background (my stepfather is a retired Presbyterian Minister) and I was hoping to find something that would make me feel more connected to my roots of Christianity yet still have some of the qualities that I experienced at the Unitarian Church (liberal, open minded, accepting of all faiths, etc).
Somewhat discouraged, I eventually stopped going to church and nurtured my spirituality privatley and with friends. Then, a year ago, a friend introduced me to Unity and I've been going ever since. I was amazed to actually (finally) find a Spiritual Community that I felt at home in.
If you want to learn more about Unity you can visit http://www.unityonline.org (also, towards the bottome of the home page there is a Directory where you could look up Unity Churches in your area).
FYI: On their website, their mission statement is "Unity helps people of all faiths apply positive spiritual principles in their daily lives." Their Vision Statement: "Transforming lives through an increasing awareness of unity with God."
Good Luck on your search! Whether it is Unity or another church, I know you will find what you are looking for!
Blessings,
S.
