Seeking a Doctor That Doesn't Push Vaccines in Lakewood/Morrison Area

I have an 8 year old son and a 4 year old daughter and I have chosen not to vaccinate them. I have a read a lot of responses on this website from moms that have the same opinion and I am amazed! Thank God both of my kids have been very healthy and I have not had the need for a doctor since I use all natural methods when they do get sick. I am not a fanatic about this and I do believe in the best of both worlds when necessary. I haven't had problems with school because I sign the waiver. Now I need to get get physicals done to get them registered in school next year. The last doctor I went to when I lived in California refused to see my kids again because of "insurance reasons". So now that I am here in Colorado, I am not sure if this will be the case or not. Has anyone had this experience? Does anyone know of a doctor in the Lakewood/Morrison area that is opened minded in this area?

Hi K.,

I go to greenwood pediatrics. One my first visit I saw the nurse practitioner. She was extremely helpful and this was the first time I was not "pushed" into vaccinations.

This may be a good place for you to start.

Good Luck,
L.

You might try Carol Turner at Aspen Park Pediatrics, up in Conifer. I have vaccinated my daughter, but I get the sense that she is open to people who choose not to, and I like her overall, very much. She's always available if there were a weekend emergency, etc. And it's a small office, so she and her nurses really know everyone. I can't find their phone # (I'm at work,) but they're certainly listed. Good luck.

I also highly recommend Dr Turner in Conifer. ###-###-####. We vaccinate so I can't say for sure but she is very open minded. I think I even remember her talking about some of her patients who don't vaccinate. As an MD, she definitely recommends it but I really think she'll support your decision.

K.,

I am not familiar with the Lakewood area, but I have two suggestions. The first is that chiropractors can give physicals for school, and they are usually very open to natural methods and not vaccinating. I do know one chiropractor in the area, Dr. Jim Hoven. His number is ###-###-####, and he is located at 8155 W 94th Ave Westminster, CO 80021. Also, I have chosen not to vaccinate, and I go to Partners in Pediatrics--they often have good herbal and homeopathic suggestions to help with issues, in addition to conventional medicine. They have a down town denver office, and a south office. It is a group practice, and one doctor, Nancy Latitus, has given me some grief with vaccinations, but I have not had trouble with any other doctors or PAs. Their number is ###-###-####, and they are located at 919 Jasmine St. in Denver.

Good Luck!
