Seeking a Breast Milk Donor for This Week!

I am going out of town this week (May 27-31) and leaving my baby for the first time. I have been pumping extra milk but only enough to last 3 days. We have been trying to give him formula but no matter what we give him, he won't eat it. I was wondering if anyone has any extra expressed breast milk they would be willing to donate to us. Thanks so much.

What can I do next?

Have you tried vitamin A & D fortified goats milk? You can get it at Whole Foods. I have used it for short stints when I have needed extra milk. Hope this helps.

Hi A., it is really dangerous to take breast milk from someone other than yourself. Breastmilk can contain any number of viruses, bacteria, you have no idea. Usually when breastmilk is donated it is screened for some of these but it is never 100%. My suggestion for you is to continue pumping until you leave and then when you are gone you should be able to pump alot. You can ship your milk in an ice cooler overnight with fedex so your baby can have it for the next day. You already have a three day supply, so you should be able to stay on top of it. Good luck,
K.

A.,

Have you tried mixing the formula with the breast milk? Try it with more milk at first and reduce it to half. See if that works.
