Second Pregnancy - Normal to Feel This Way This Early?

I'm just about 6 weeks along with my second pregnancy. I feel like this pregnancy is kicking my butt compared to the first! I'm already showing and my clothes don't fit, which I understand is normal after the abs have already been stretched out, but I constantly have this uncomfortable feeling every time I eat. It's the feel that I had when I was at least 7 months along with the first and my belly was huge - like I've overdone it (even if it's just a snack) and full to the point of nausea. It's different from my morning sickness feeling. Also, my back already hurts! I know it sounds like I'm whining... I just feel like this is going to be a long 9 months! Thank goodness my little boy helps keep my mind/body occupied and not constantly thinking about it. :)

What can I do next?

Oh yeah! I'm 26 weeks along with my second right now, and things are MUCH more intense this time around. I showed at 11 weeks, my belly is HUGE (the doctor even said so!), the weight gain is more. I'm tired more - chasing a toddler does that to you, and I've had to slow down a lot faster than I did with the first one.
I'm as uncomfortable right now as I was at the very end with DS, and I've got at least 11 weeks to go. So you're not alone. The "magic" of pregnancy is totally gone. Ha! Been there, done that.

Sounds normal! Each pregnancy is different. I think the 2nd one can be a little harder too b/c you have a little one that needs to be tended to & who is absorbing your energy, etc...

I saw a chiropractor regularly w/ my 2nd pregnancy & noticed a HUGE difference in my comfort after I started seeing him.

Oh my goodness, I KNOW! I'm 22 weeks in now, but I keep telling my husband how uncomfortable I am! It's funny because I wasn't really in pain with my first until the 3rd trimester, and actually pretty late in the 3rd trimester. Everything happens a lot earlier this time around!

Hi M.,

I know it's normal to feel pregnancy symptoms more, with subsequent pregnancies. I thought this too, with my 3rd....turns out I had two in there. Maybe you're having TWINS! Good luck, and let us know.

Just remember that every pregnancy is different. Your body will react differently every time you are pregnant. Your abdominal muscles are already stretched out from the first pregnancy. Just eat small meals all day long. Hopefully, when you reach your second trimester your will feel better. Remember to stay active and exercise and drink a lot of water. Unfortunately, the first 12-14 weeks are no fun.

Whining is allowed. = )

Everything is fine and normal.

I am pregnant now for the fifth time, my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I have three children and now I am 14 weeks pregnant and I have felt like you do since I was 4 weeks.
I never felt so bad with the other ones that I had so far this one
has turned my world upside down and inside out and all around.
I have been real sick. And oh so very tired.
I have also thought "oh my goodness this is going to be a hard and long pregnancy".

I wish you the best and good luck.

Yes, perfectly normal. I'm on my fourth pregnancy right now (the first ended in miscarriage), and each one has been completely different.

With my previous pregnancy, I had morning sickness the entire nine months. Not very fun. I tried to eat a little bit all the time to keep things at bay and to gain weight (I lost about 20 pounds my first trimester just because I wasn't eating). Also, if you can, get in to see a chiropracter NOW before you get any bigger. They will be able to tell you if you have any issues in your back and/or pelvis. I say that because I have some bones in my pelvis that STILL need readjusting from my first one, but it doesn't hurt when I'm not pregnant so I forget about it.

And give yourself a break... try to get a pregnancy massage, indulge in your favorite activities with your favorite people, and do something fun with your little boy that doesn't have you chasing too much. I found that an open field with dandelions was great! I'd sit on a blanket with his sippy cup and some snacks, and he'd just run around counting flowers and having a great time! Add a ball to the mix, and maybe another mother and child, and you're set for hours.

I am 17 weeks pregnant with my second and I know just what you mean! With my first pregnancy I could wear my regular jeans up until the 5th-6th month with no problem. With this pregnancy, I stopped being able to wear my regular jeans at 5-6 weeks!!! Ever since I have been pregnant this time I am constantly bloated and showing WAY sooner. I have had a little belly for the past month or so and with my first no one could even tell I was pregnant until my 7th month! My back has been hurting for a while too, I am not too excited to see how the rest of the pregnancy will go since I already feel SO pregnant and I am only about half way there!
