Hey Mamas!

I am having a dificult time finding a reliable, trustworthy and sane babysitter! I have tried sittercity, I have gotten all of the lists of babysitters from the local daycares and am still struggling to find someone! I work 3 evenings a week until 8 and everyother saturday 8-5. Would any of you have ideas for other resources or a referral to someone you might know locally that would be interested in a position like this? The kids are 11, 9 and 5 and I have been paying $8 an hour cash. My family is an hour away, we are fairly new to the area and if school was in session, I would contact the high school!

Thank you so much!

Call your local college and ask for one of the early childhood teachers. Tell them you are looking for some one and want one that can work the hours you need. If they are like the teachers here they will tell their classes. Which are made up of ladies going to school for childcare. They teachers will pass your number on to ones they feel would be good.

do you belong to a church? I went to the youth group director and she pointed me towards the best babysitters.

M., It may be that your not paying enough for the amount of children you have and the hours. One of the things you might look for is a grandmother type and not a "young" person.

Surely someone you know can recommend someone.......how late do you work? Can you get a high school kid? No family?

Ask around at the park and see if anyone can recommend someone....

Good Luck, oh, and try Craigslist.........
