If your father or husband has ever been in the military, the ONLY bank to bank with is USAA. Go to their webite, USAA.com for information. They are truly awesome.

We have been with BOA for the past couple of years and our experience with them just keeps getting worse. I finally moved my personal checking with a small bank and like it but we are still looking for another bank that offers a good online banking program. We still have an account with BOA for our online banking because we do not like the online banking system that the smaller bank offers. BOA continues to take our money and charge us unnecessary fees. So far this year I bet we have paid ovr $1,000 on overdrafts that shouldnt have been charged because we had the $$ transfered directly from another account but didnt get it in on time so they held our money for 2 days causing us to overdraft. We would really like to pull everything from them but want to find a good bank that overs a good onlin bill pay system and perferably good customer service (you would think that wouldnt be much to ask for). Any of you that have had any BOA nightmares experiences like we have can relate I am sure...Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

We use USAA as well, but found it is nice to have a local bank. We use Northstar bank. They have online banking, but I have not used it so not sure how userfriendly it is. We live in Denton and use the Teasley Lane location and I only have good things to say about them as far as I have used them. We have several little accounts, and a safe deposit box there. They are always friendly and helpful. They know us by name when we go in the front door or drive thru.
We've been BOA customers for 20+ yrs. We've never had issues.
I go to my local branch and they know me by name, very friendly and helpful.
We run our business account through BOA as well and again, never an issue. I do several wires a week as well as receiving wires in...you just have to know that dates things will actually post...not date deposited by you.
The ONLY fees we have ever paid have been wire fees when I wire $ to our suppliers for our shipments.
We keep that in mind with all of our accounts. They do have premier banking accounts that are highly service oriented....we never pay for checks, there is overdraft protection on our accounts but we've never used it...we are numbers people and are diligent about our finances.
I do all online banking, I reconcile the accounts daily.
We moved here from NC and we were very happy with Wachovia when we were in NC. They were not in this area so we went with BOA, which was NCNB when we started.
If I were to look for another bank, Wachovia would be at the top of my list.
Best wishes...
i didn't like BOA either for the same reasons the fees. i switched to viewpoint bank and really like it. i even found that chase is better than boa.
I have been with WellsFargo for 10 years and I love it! They were the first bank to do online banking and now that they have bought out Wachovia there are more branches.
You can always get any of their accounts free. Since we are in Texas there is the Free Checking but I have the second highest checking where you get everything free. Free upgraded checks and so on as long as you have a 75 dollar transfer to savings a mo. No fees with that transfer there are other checkings as well.
I use to work for them for a few months last year. Wasnt my thing but I love banking with them. They have been around over 150 years. They aren't going anywhere.
Their online banking is superior to others as well. I have had accts on the side with BOA, Chase and Capital One. Check theirs out! Plus the rewards program is great!
