Searching for Family Friendly City/town to Live in MA

I am looking to relocate to a different city/town in MA. My #1 reason is for a better school system. Next to that I want a town that is family friendly with a great sense of community. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not looking for anything further west than central MA (Worcester area).

What can I do next?

We live in Framingham and love it. So far we've been very happy with the schools. Not sure about a "sense of community" because we're so big, but we have a lot of different close knit neighborhoods. There's something in pretty much every price range here too. Also it's a great location. Let me know if you have other questions!

Hi A., my son's GFs family lives in Wayland, which is just east of Framingham. It's a gorgeous little town with excellent schools. Exit 13 off the Mass Pike, and only about a half hour from Boston. Pricey though.

It looks like you are currently in Gardner, are you looking to move closer to the city for jobs or just a change of atmosphere. I have lived in Leominster all my life and feel that small cities such as ours have a great family atmosphere and the school system is usually better since they are not overcrowded. My son is in second grade and he has loved all his teachers so far and I have not heard a bad thing about any of the teachers at his school. he was reading magic tree house books in 1st grade and does well in all his classes so I know they are working with him because when I tried to teach him his letter all he would do is tell me "I don't want to learn that" and then ignore me and play by himself rather than let me teach him.

I live in Arlington, and it has all you are looking for, especially the schools and community part. It's all neighborhood schools so you really get to know neighbors and kids' families. The people are very down-to-earth and just good people, but also very "academic" since we're close to major universities. It is close to Cambridge and Lexington, rt. 2, 128, etc. It is expensive, however, more so than other similar towns that are further north, such as Burlington and Chelmsford. What is your price range? That will really drive your decision. Other towns I recommend are Newton, Acton, Bedford, and Winchester. Good luck!!!
