West Valley near 71st Ave/Beardsley...I am searching for someone who loves babies, that has an opening for an 8 month old infant, speaks english and can protect and nurture my little man. My husband is FINALLY going back to work, and I am so paranoid and terrified that my baby will be abused or neglected, or have someone harvest his organs or sell him into slavery :( ( I watch the news and horror movies way too much) I am going crazy! If anyone could put my mind at ease I would GREATLY appreciate it. I seriously want to quit my job and find a "work from home" gig so I don't have to worry as much. Any suggestions there? Please help!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for the advice. I put Ayden on the waiting list at Valley Childcare, and even though they said there was a HUGE waiting list, he got in the next day! My friend's children are going there now, and that too has really put my mind at ease. Thank you all again :)

I am in the process of opening a Childcare at my church, and believe me when I say this: ALL DAY CARES ARE REGULATED VERY STRICTLY BY THE STATE! They have SOOO many standards and regulations. The important thing for you, whether you choose an in-home day care or a day care center, is that you choose one that is LICENSED by the state of Arizona. One's that are not licensed have no rules to follow. You should also study up on what the rules are, for instance, if you have only one teacher, you cannot have more than 5 infants in a room. If you go to your child's 'school' and find 9 infants and one teacher, file a complaint and find a new center!

Hi J.,
I know how you feel being scared to let a stranger care for your child. I too am scared and I talked with my husband and told him that if we had a child that I want it to where I can stay home and care for him, not daycare. So we made some sacrifices and I'm able to stay at home. Living paycheck to paycheck but we're doing ok. If you're looking for a stay at home job, you might want to consider running a little in-home day care for babies. That way, you can be home with your little man, and make a few bucks too. :-) I'm cosidering that myself, but I want to do some things first before I commit to a job like that. My husband and I are finally going to have a Honeymoon at Disneyland in June (after 3 1/2 years of marriage), and then I'm going to look into babysitting/daycare for babies. That could be one option for you. :-) I hope it all works out for you. G.

I would suggest going to a daycare center and not a in-home sitter. I take my daughter to Valley Child Care on 35th ave and greenway. She is 2 1/2 and has been going there since she was 3 months. The baby room is great there and they are very strict on the state laws. I know it is scary, the first week she was there, i cried off and on all day. Good Luck!
