Schools in 85339 Zip Code of Phoenix?

In Paradise Valley School district the schools, at least the one my kids go to are up to 6th grade, then Middle school and of course High School after that. I believe if I wanted to I could change school with in the district, maybe outside but I am not 100% sure on that. I had a friend that just moved out in the area you are talking about and they were going to put her children on a waiting list, the school was that full! So do check into it before you decide on a place. Laveen is a very fast growing area or it was when the real estate market was booming last year,lots of newer homes...but still areas that have alot of land and older homes on it. I havent personally been out there so I couldnt tell you very much about the area. And I hope you got your answer on charter schools because I never looked into them for my kids. Good Luck!

OK most schools are not K-8 but K-5 then middle school is 6-8 and high schoool is 9-12. As far as school districts there are some that allow you to enroll out of the districts but most public schools do not like in Mesa, Chandler and Tempe they don't allow that but some do and you have to supply transportation to and from school. And the ones that do I have heard they only allow so many out of district.

Charter schools are everywhere and many of them are k-8th from what I see. Basically they get less funding from the city and state. Thet require more parental involvement and usually you buy more supplies than you do at public schools. The schools are smaller and usually less students. Some charter schools are really excellant academically so you just need to check them out. Charter schools also do not transport like public schools.

Well this is what I know so maybe someone can give you more advice. I am not sure exactly where you are moving. I'd have to check the zip code. i am in Chandler but we lived in 85032 zip code a few years. OK I think that is neer Laveen, AZ and thats way out well compared to me so maybe some one in the area can tell you in detail about the schools there. GOOD LUCK.

Hi, again. I do not know much about the schools in Laveen but you should be aware of several things when checking out schools. I am a teacher myself and these things can be important in finding a good school. Find out if the school is performing, maintaining, underperforming etc. these labels come from the state. Second, class size is crucial for a good education so ask how many children are in the classes becuase most schools in the Phoenix area are maxed out with students due to the growing population. You can take your child to a different school if you can obtain a variance. These are hard to get because of the over populated schools. I think that if the school is labeled failing then you have the right to enroll your child in a different school. My school district does not give many variances and often children are put on a waiting list. I could have my son go to my school if I wanted because I work there but it just doesn't work for us. Charter schools are federally funded and maintain the same standards as public schools. They are founded on a certain belief or philosophy. Sometimes they go bankrupt and need to close or they have not been around long, so you need to do your research, plus many of them are underperforming. My son goes to a charter school and it is one that is national and has been around for over 20 years and has a good standing with the state. It is a part of Imagine Schools, his school is called Bell Canyon. Some schools here are k-8 but not all it depends on your boundries. My school that I teach at is K-3 becuase there are too many children in the area to accomadate more grades, we used to be K-8 two years ago but had to change due to new apartments and homes. The best schools in the state are in either the Paradise Valley school district or the Kyrene school district. All of these areas are nice. Gilbert, Chandler and Scottsdale. If nearby, most schools also have open enrollment. Many Kindergartens have moved to free all day schooling (thinking of your little one) The Highway 10 is HORRIBLE to let you know if living out in Avondale or West Valley. For that matter Highway 60 is also really bad. I can help you if you have any questions at all about commutes or areas. Feel free just to call about questions if you like. You are right some schools are k-8 but some have a middle school as well it depends on where you live. It's difficult to enroll kids in different boundaries that you live in if they've never attended those schools before but if they attend a school and then you move out of that district usually the school will give you a variance for your child to continue going to school there. I believe 85339 is Litchfield Park, AZ? If so that area has the best public schools from what I've heard. I'm not real familiar with Charter schools, I've always liked the public schools out here. Stay away from Washington School district, they're no good.

Laveen is quite far south of the city, but some areas are very nice. There is some horse property there too. The Peoria District is K through 8 and I believe that Laveen is the same. The school districts aren't always in the city whose name they carry, but no they are not fluid. You can sometimes move schools within a district, but even that is only if there is room. Laveen is in the hundred year flood plain, so I believe you need flood insurance there. The housing ranges from mobile homes to very new expensive ones. It is near the reservation and there is a casino just past Laveen off of 51st Avenue. Also the freeway is going right down 51st and the community is upset about that, so watch where you buy if you buy there. Avondale is growing and a nice new area. If you want to be far out there is Vistancia, a new development in the northeast. I drive a lot for work, I'm with hospice, so I see a different areas of the valley.
