Hi!
Have you thought about Waldorf school for your daughter? That's a perfect alternative for artistic kids.
Have a good day!

I'm thinking of changing schools for my 10 year old daughter who is going into 5th grade this year. She attended a Catholic school last year and a public school the prior year and has not had good experiences with either. Does anyone know of a good charter school in the Twin Cities, preferably near Inver Grove/Eagan, that would be good for us? My daughter is very artistic and creative and traditional schooling is stifling. (Home schooling is not an option since I have to work as a single mom.)

When My daughter and I moved here 2 years ago I had heard a few peope recommend a school in eagan. It just happened to be close to my house. It is school district 196. The school is called Oak Ridge Elementary. The school is off Diffley and Johnny Cake Ridge Road. My daughter attended 2nd and 3rd grade and will be going to grade 4 there in the fall. I am pleased with the school. It is a public school.
You could check into Tesseract in Eagan. I've heard good things about it. Also, in Inver Grove there is a school called Atheneum Gifted Magnet School at Salem Hills Elementary. She might enjoy this more being that it would be a little more challenging.
Have you heard of the Fine Arts Interdistrict Regional school (F.A.I.R.)? I've heard good things about it. They try to integrate Art into everything they teach. I think it's in Golden Valley - not sure.
