V.K.
Hope it works for you! I don't have personal experience with it, but if tomorrow doesn't turn the baby, check out Webster technique and moxibustion if you haven't already.
Good Luck!
I've got an external version scheduled tomorrow because DD is breech. She's not only breech, she's doing the splits and is footling breech! Footlings are the hardest to turn :( I'm wondering if anyone else has had a version for their breech baby. If so, did it work? What was your experience?
My version WORKED!!! The little stinker was in the worst possible position to turn and the doctor made it seem like it was no big deal!! I had Dr. Cowell at FVR hospital do it. I was not at all uncomfortable and it took less than 5 minutes! The most discomfort I felt was when her head moved out of my rib cage and it simply felt like she was stretching/kicking really hard. I feel like I've done about 50 sit-ups but other than that, I'm not bruised and I feel much better (I can breathe now!!). She shouldn't revert back to breech so I think I'm good to go for a reglular delivery!!

I have a good friend who was breech with her girl and had the external version done. The version did not work. She said it was very painful to have done.
With my first daughter, we had a prenatal educator that swears by this more natural method to get a baby to turn. Babies love music and can hear it in the womb. Put a music box at the base of your stomach each night and let it play for about an hour. After 3-4 nights, begin moving the music box down your legs. The baby will want to keep hearing the music and will thus turn to get closer to the sound. If your version doesn't work, give this a shot, it might prevent that dreaded c-section.
I'm due with my second at christmas and my baby is currently breech, due to past complications, we already have a c-section scheduled...but I might try this anyway just to see if it works!
I don't have personal experience, but I just read that you can use hypnosis to turn babies. It has better results than versions. I read about it in a book called Hypnobirthing: The Mongan Method. I am due in on 10/23 and will be using hypnobirthing and relaxing techniques during labor. This is my second birth as well. I really encourage you to look into this possibility for turning your baby. It sure beats a c-section, and it's completely painless. If you would like to find someone certified to do this, i can ask my instructor for a referral if you're in the Madison area. Good luck!
I have not experienced a breech baby--but I wanted to mention that some chiropractors are certified in the Webster technique which helps turn baby the right direction without actually manipulating your belly. It is a lot less stressful on baby too. Good luck!!!! I wish I could be of more help!
Both of my girls were frank breech and both c-sections. I was told that 1 in 4 babys will turn from a version. I think I was told that they usually vert a baby around 36 wks. I was already 39-40.
FYI I consulted with three doctors and nobody would attempt a version on my second child because I had a c-section.
They gave me a shot to relax my uterus and I remember that my stomach muscles just kept tightening up each time an attempt was made. They tried several times before stopping. Try to relax and breath through it. I have high pain tolerance and just grib that bed and breath like you're in labor and you'll do fine.
I hope you are able to get that baby turned around.
I had one with my first daughter and she was also a footling breech. I have to be honest with you - the version was very painful and left bruises of the doctors handprints on my belly. I cried through most of it and the doctor finally said that it wasn't going to work. She never did turn and I had a c-section.
Let me tell you that if you end up having a c-section birth with your baby you will be quite surprised at how silly their legs look after they are born. When we would lay my daughter down on her back her legs went straight up to her ears! It was weird to see, but the nurses will assure you that with swaddling her legs will "come down" and she will be fine. We also had an ultrasound done on our daughters legs at 6 months of age to be sure her hip sockets were not damaged by being breech (at advice of our pediatrician). Good Luck.
