Scentsy Question

So I have been interested in purchasing Scentsy. I found a consultant and just picked up her kit yesterday to bring home and smell all the fragrances. My husband and I both were dissappointed because a lot of the scents had this "after smell" to it. I'm not sure how to explain it. The scents weren't sharp smelling, they were all faint and waxy smelling. I have been in the candle business before, selling Gold Canyon and another local candle business and have never experienced this before. I have also purchased from Mia Bella and Blush too, bringing home their kits as well and again have never had an issue with this "after smell".

With the expense I don't want to be dissappointed so I am asking all of the Scentsy users out there, once you melt them do you get this smell in your house? I wonder if maybe her kit is old. I know this is a weird question but maybe one of you wonderful moms out there have experienced what we did with this unique smell.

Also if you are a user of Scentsy we like fall spicy cinnamon like smells (not cinnamon red hot smells), can you recommend some good ones for us?

What can I do next?

I adore my Scentsy. I've never had a problem with after smell either.

Instead of investing in more bars, I simply add diffuser oils or essential oils to the scentless wax for scent. It is most economical this way and I can get a variety of scents at a fraction of the cost of the bars which is very nice.

I agree with Kristen M. on the sticky cinnamon bun scent.

Yep, I know the smell you speak of. It's weird. Once the smell is all burned out, I can smell the weirdness.
I will never buy scentsy products again. They are way overpriced and they sell the same thing at Walmart for next to nothing.
That is where I purchase my fragrance refills now, and they have super cute warmers too. Need to pick me up another.....for um, $5 .

I've never had a problem with any kind of "after" smell with my scentsy. We like the baking smells, like sugar cookie and baked apple pie.

I've never had this problem. Even now, there is a warmer behind me that hasn't been used in a few days. There is a faint scent, but it's of the melted bar that is still in the warmer. I love any of the scents that smell "clean."

I like Scentsy. I have a warmer in my kitchen and both bathrooms. When they're on, I can smell them! I also like the cinnamon scents. Try sticky cinnamon bun.

I have never liked smelling the sample scents. To me, it is so small, you can't get a good feel of how it will smell in your home and some of those samples are years old. When I melt the bars at home, I never notice an "after" smell and the smells seem strong enough. After a few uses, you'll have to replenish because the scent diminishes each time you use it.

You might like snowberry. It is a mix of different scents and is the only one with cinnamon that doesn't overpower me.

I love the cinnamon clove smell. I fire it up every once in a while, but I bought my warmer at Walmart. :-)

I have found that I cannot be in the room with the warmer. I have to put it somewhere else to permeate the house. It makes me sneeze. And there is no "after smell" that I'm aware of.

I bought 2 of them. I don't notice this smell you are talking about. However, I am allergic to them!! I still keep them on tho, because the house we rent has this weird smell and its the only thing that has worked to cover it. We have been here 5 years and tried everything. I tend to have the one on in the livingroom 24/7 since that's the room you walk into. My favorite scent is Home Sweet Home. I also like Quiver, Sweet Pea and Pomegranite. I HATE Simply Irrisistable. It smells like grass. Yuck. Good luck!

My neighbor has Scentsy parties every now and then. I don't care for them. I don't feel they are worth what you pay for and the scents are not very long lasting. My daughter, however, LOVES her "Scentsy Buddy" ( a stuffed animal that has a Scentsy pouch inside which can be replaced).
