I'm sure it will fade with time. Mederma also makes a childrens version of scar cream. I would check with your doctor to make sure it is safe for her...not sure how old she is.
My 3 yr old daughter was scratched on her cheek by her baby brother and she still has a 1/2 inch scar 7 months later. It has faded some, but is still pink and noticeable. It bled slightly at the time of the accident, but I had no idea it would scar and am shocked that she still has a mark. Does anyone have any experience with this and know if there is any hope of this mark going away? Thanks so much.

Talk to your pediatrician and start using a scar cream now! My DD had a scratch near her eye, that every one said would "go away". It did go away but she still has a scar there. It is not terribly visible, but I can see it. I kick myself every day for not putting a scar cream on it when something could still be done. If it has been 7 months what you see is likely to always be there if you don't use some sort of scar cream now. Consult your pediatrician and prevent a permanent scar.
My daughter scratched her nose with a fingernail when she was 3. It barely bled just a little scab, the tiniest scab and yet she had a red line for about a year and then it started to fade. I was worried it be there forever and all her pictures had this bright red line right down the middle of her nose. But she is 5 now and there is nothing, completely gone. I think it started to fade quite a bit after the first year and now I can't even see where it was. It is amazing how that stuff happens. I think the skin on the face must be super sensitive.
My son fell on a sidewalk and got a nasty (but superficial) gash under his eye. I was amazed how long it lasted, but it DID eventually go completely away. I would say for at least 6-8 months you could still see it turn red every time he got hot. Finally, one day I woke up and realized that we couldn't see it anymore. I agree that if you haven't already beem using some type of scar cream, then now is the time. We put antibiotic ointment on it for a while and Vitamin E twice a day for a long long time after it happened. For future reference, the rule of thumb is that any injury to the face, unless it's really superficial, should be checked out by a plastic surgeon. Although I am glad my son's scar has completely faded, I now realize that I should have taken him to see one just to be sure. Good luck!
You don't say how old she is but it sounds like she's quite young. It will go away in time. That's the beauty of youth.
It will go away - it takes longer than you think. My daughter had something similar and it is gone now (can't remember the details even). There is a product called Scar Solution that i used when my son got burned when hot soup spilled on him.
