Last weekend we took our 2.5 year old son to see Santa. He was really excited, sat on his lap and told him what he wanted. The perfect Santa visit!

So here's my dilemma...Next week, at his daycare, they are having Breakfast with Santa. He has already seen Santa, how will we explain that this one is Santa too, and why does he have to tell him again what he wants, he already told him once before.

This is our first year with an understanding of Santa, just want to keep my stories straight! :-)

What can I do next?

mine is two and he is super excited this year too. is it possible he may not realize the difference? same red suit...etc...maybe just don't make a big deal about it. he doesn't have to tell him what he wants again, if he doesn't want to. maybe just pose for a picture? i don't know. if it was mine (although he is a bit younger) i'd just hope he didn't notice lol.

Just tell him that, since not everyone was able to go see him like your son was, Santa came to the daycare to give other kids a chance. He'll probably go for that.
I have also had discussions with my kids about the Santas in the malls, etc. not being the "real" Santa, but just helpers, because Santa is pretty busy at the North Pole right now. Then the kids are ok with the idea even if the Santa is an obvious fake, which my kids could spot every time, but 2 and a half is kind of young, so he might not understand that.

You can always explained that Santa can't be everywhere all the time. So he has helpers. One Santa does dilevery all our presents. But during the holiday season. He has helpers that help him collect his list and to help when he busy at the North Pole. It always worked with my daughter

we were always told as kids that those werent the REAL santa, he was busy making his list, these santas are all assistants and they dress like santa so we know who they are. And their job is to not only tell santa what you want but to make sure you're nice and polite and a good kid, so be nice to all the assistants.
